No, you can't. You have to find and edit the material file, which is used for the glass of the reflex sight of this custom weapon. It should be the one with BGEM extension.
Thank you for the quick reply and thank you for the information. The gun i was refuring to is the stand alone version of my favorite ru556. One of its sight has that purple lens but i think it was ment to have it cause all of the other sights are normal. Again thank you.
If this is the mod you are talking about https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22536 then it does need a fix for four of the scopes. I've commented on the mod page about it.
That is the favorite gun that I use yea. Thank you for letting me know it did need a fix. I'll be sure to look out for it once the fix is out, but to be honest. The RU556 is an extreamly old mod (few years old).
The reason i prefer to use stand alone guns vs replacers is because when replaceing a gun u replace 2-3 types of guns for just 1 model. Also it is hard to uninstall replacers cause some of those mods likes to hard code their way into your game making it almost impossable to get rid of the guns features. (uuhhmm.. TEC 9)
Yeah, it's not very likely that the mod will get an update. As for a patch, I don't know. According to instructions, you need permission from all authors and the list is big, I'm not sure who should be asked. You can do the patch yourself, if you feel you're up for it. For now my post is at the top of the comments section of the mod, so you'll know which materials need editing. You'll need couple of programs - BSA Browser or BAE to extract the materials from the BA2; Material Editor to open them and add the missing cubemap as Envmap Texture. Edit: @Glaceon575 sorry, I got a bit carried away, about a different weapon mod
I'm glad someone is giving this a try. But I really hope more weapon mod authors see this information and check their BGEM materials before releasing, so patches like these are avoided altogether. Then everyone will be able to enjoy their mods without any additional hassle.
