I'm not entirely sure if the mod isn't working or if I'm installing it wrong. I am putting the .ba2 archive and .esl in the data folder, and the textures/VRAM usage doesn't change.
save in sanctuary, walk to red rocket (my FPS drops when loading the map), close the game, activate the mod and reload the save, walk to red rocket, see that less FPS has dropped (see with Afterburner).
Nice, I spent who knows how long to convert the files with the instructions of the og mod, and today Vortex informed me that it needed to "fix" something. Well, I didn't think much of it so I pressed okay. And now I noticed that it decided to revert the texture files back to default.
Well, I haven't received any noticable errors for playing with the mod now 3 days in total, but can't say the game runs any better though. I haven't viewed my fps in comparison to vanilla so I can't say for sure, but judging by the noticeable frame loss I get in certain areas, it doesn't feel that much better with the mod. I doubt it's because of this patch though, it's because of the base mod.
And in general, I think it fucks up the A Forest mod as some trees are lacking leaves. But I recall seeing a comment somewhere saying that any mod that edits trees causes that issue. Nevermind, it didn't.
Actually, I received quite a bit of crashes because of some mod conflicts, so I had to disable every mod and enable few at a time to see the culprit. When I was doing that, at Sanctuary I had quite a bit of input lag, before I enabled this mod, which improved somewhat after I enabled it. It's not perfect, but it probably helped quite some amount at least judging by the lesser input lag from higher fps.
zmaz, all this mod does is selectively take many of the larger vanilla textures and reduce their size and use better compression. If another mod uses it's own textues it will use it's own. There's no conflicts. I completed the game and played to level 114 using this repack and had no problems and my modest rig (gtx1050ti, i7-3770) stayed pretty much locked on 60fps. It sounds to me like you've got other mod conflicts and/or broken precombines in some mods.
Dude, no offence but you never "finish" fallout mate, you merely completed the main quest line. Now the real game begins, get that nexus in your favorite cause now it's MODDIN' TIME!
Let me understand this... is this a "plug and play" mod? Do I need only to install it through Vortex, enable it and that is it? New textures are already installed?
I thought I had done all that could be done with various mods centered around gaining FPS, such as the removal of certain effects and general performance edits, but this combined with total shadow removal through the ini files--I can actually play Fallout 4 without a constant night mod! It's been so long since I've seen daylight! (In FO4, that is.)

I'm shocked how much of a performance boost i got
f*#@ me. I hope this mod works though.
