This is a replacer pack for various rifles (including energy rifles) in the vanilla game. This will be the first of 3 replacer packs that I will be releasing this month.

I created this mod just because I wanted to contribute to the modding community in small ways such as this. Also, because I decided that I wanted to replace one of the guns from this pack in my own game. This is my second attempt at creating a publicized mod in general, so if there are any issues, please understand that I am still new to modding. With that being said, I learned a lot since my release of the QBZ-191 Laser Musket replacer, and am confident that I can release this pack with little-to-no issues.

See below for a list of modifications each weapon would spawn with (if replaced). Note that, you won't start seeing a variety of weapon mods until about level 25 (for balance sake):

Assault Rifle
Combat Rifle
Gauss Rifle
Handmade Rifle
Institute Rifle
Laser Musket
Laser Rifle
Plasma Rifle
Radium Rifle
Pipe Gun
Railway Rifle

It's good for downloaders to understand that this mod will replace vanilla weapons without modifying the original mod's weapons, so you may encounter 2 weapons from the M4 pack with different base IDs, but they should be functionally identical. One thing to note though, if you decide to replace the Laser Musket with one of the weapons from the pack, you may encounter Preston having weird animations during When Freedom Calls. This is because he is hard-coded to use Laser Musket animations during the quest. If this bothers you, feel free to remove my override of his weapon from the esp you chose in FO4Edit.

These will be all the weapons that will be offered to be replaced in this replacer pack. Please do not ask me to support more weapons. If you want to replace, let's say, a pipe bolt action with an AR from this pack, I suggest learning how to do so yourself.

This mod requires The Ultimate M4 Pack (obviously). This mod was made with tactical reload in mind, but in the event you prefer to use the non-tactical reload version of the pack, there are options available in the FOMOD for you to choose that omits the need for tactical reload.

Simply download the main file, which should open a FOMOD installer. From there, select whether or not you are using the Tactical Reload version or not, and then continue to select which weapons you'd like to replace from the pack.

NOTE: The mod will give a single esp flagged as an esl for each weapon you replace. For novice modders, this means the mod does NOT count against your 255 plugin limit. I highly recommend using a clean save when installing (or updating) any replacer mod.

  • NPC firing sounds do not play. This is an issue with The Ultimate M4 Pack itself. If this bothers you, I'd suggest not downloading this mod, as replacing it with let's say, the laser rifle, will make the Brotherhood of Steel a bunch of ninjas EDIT: PATCH RELEASED TO FIX THIS ISSUE IN VERSION 1.1.
  • When replacing the Laser Musket with any weapon from this pack, Preston will retain his laser-musket-based animations during When Freedom Calls. This only applies to this quest, however, but will definitely look janky.
  • Replaced weapons appearing in statically-placed spawns may occasionally appear deformed. This is most notable when replacing the Laser Musket, as the weapon you pick up there will initially appear deformed until it is picked up. This is only the first time you see it on the ground, it will not appear deformed once you drop it.
  • Replacing any weapons the super mutants use (i.e. Assault & Laser Rifles) will result in them being unable to use those weapons, therefore having no weapon to use at all. I recommend installing this patch to fix any issue you may have, in the event you do replace said weapons.
  • The original mod has compatibility issues with Classic Holstered Weapons. Some users have reported crashing issues as a result, so beware of using this mod with Classic Holstered Weapons installed.
