For anyone curious, I have added an alternate version of the files making the Shock Baton unique, and placing the only instance of it in the cave near the UFO Crash Site, next to the Alien. This will only spawn if the UFO encounter has triggered (i.e. ship has crashed, Alien has spawned)
Here's a quick version I made that makes it more Lore-Friendly. Now it only spawns on the alien and other aliens using the same npc id added with mods and also as a chance to spawn on legendary enemies at level 10. Make a merged patch if there's conflicts. If you missed it, use console commands. "Help Baton 4"
I already have the Creation Club version so I don't personally use it, this is just a edit for others.
This looks lovely but really feels like it should be a unique instead - having random Gunners use them feels out of place. Having a select spot for it, maybe even giving it to a boss, would feel more "lore friendly" to me.
Its definitely a weird weapon that should be an UNCOMMON level list item but I've come to think of uniques as lame. If you happen to lose it (who knows why) it's gone, if you happen to want another for display purposes you're out of luck, and if you want to use it while at the same time having a companion using it you're also screwed.
Plus its always nice to have more variety in level lists anyway. Helps hide the fact most vendors only have variety when it comes to pipe weapons...
iunno, I'm kinda weird about it too. I'd rather aliens just didn't exist in Fallout or headcanon these were secret government-made weapons by some Men in Black organization.
If it weren't Zetan I'd agree. Now, if there were a way to have a very rare spawn chance for a Zetan to appear, that would be one thing. Add in the Alien Blaster and, for those who have it, the Alein weapon Creation Club mod. But Gunners are a bad choice anyways - if anything it would make more sense to have it be Institute spawna.
The Zetan empire does exist in Fallout and this is a Zetan weapon. There are 4 Zetans that appear in the game, the weapon should appear on one of those characters. Not raiders and gunners.
The Electro Enforcer that was added to 76 is a long, two-handed melee weapon, which is distinct from the Shock Baton (short, one-handed) from Mothership Zeta. I did, however, base my Shock Baton mods on the Electro Enforcer's mods.
Neato, looks like you're moving on from the explosives to melee now? Just be sure to coordinate with Grill and Turkey about what they'll be releasing on the roadmap soon.
Would love to see the police baton from F3/NV replace the security baton. Or maybe the same but for the Combat knife?
