Hello RobinsonCruso, you can force the game to use the reflection setting use an ESP/L. Just add the GMST by hand, this way you dont need to force the game to use INI settings. I did this on my end and if you like i can upload the file on nexusmods. Very interesting observation here. Thanks.
IDK what Beth did but water reflections are nearly non-existent in FO4 [and Skyrim to a lesser extent.] which makes distant water look really bad. That's putting it nicely.

Yes, actual reflections instead of this screen-space guff would be really nice. Actually, real combined with screenspace would probably be best, since real reflections can be used for water while the screen-space stuff can be done on shiny objects where it would be too performance-intensive to do the real stuff.
Thanks for these tweaks, alongside Clean Water of the Commonwealth and Real Water HD for ENB I've managed to get the best look for reflective water that's worked for me so far (also using the ENB water options/water and reflections). The flickering bug still persists when grass is around, but the distant and indoor reflections work really well for me finally. Good work!
In theory an LOD of 0 is no compression full quality, 1 or greater is garbled lower quality. Negative or -1 or less actually creates more fidelity... In theory that is... Hope all is well for ya brother, hope to maybe see you can take this info and create a masterpiece of a revision.
Here's my little revision you may consider for mega def reflections and quality, maybe too much for our system or too much in general... Have yet to test it... If you want I'll keep updating anyway as I test?
-50 here... way too much probably since -10 is so sharp it might burn your eyes out haha ... water though so it maybe just look unreal...?
This setting in particular could be useful to bring true pure max quality unmodified...
bUseWaterLOD=0 "To not use LOD and just have pure quality"?
Then you could set LOD values to 0 along with it... I can't seem to get it to reflect with "Visible Galaxy" mod not that it worked in the first place I can't see the thing... Uninstalling to see if it reflects vanilla sky... I don't know? At night in particular.. maybe daytime reflects better...
[Water] bReflectLODObjects=0 = Does not reflect lod objects at all || 1 = Reflects lod objects bReflectLODLand=0 = Does not reflect lod land at all || 1 = Reflects lod land bReflectSky=0 = Does not reflect sky such as clouds at all || 1 = Reflects sky contents bReflectLODTrees=0 = Does not reflect lod trees at all || 1 = Reflects lod trees

You can't install it with Vortex or MO2

let me know if you find out
I install the expriment version and have no such effect in game
Good job man! Maybe you can add waves to the water? haha
Yeah an overhaul wouldn't be so bad? Not to say anything bad about it... It looks good man.
I'm not sure which one to use, maybe I'll start with Experimental version.
I'm using Clean Water so maybe that's why it doesn't work for me? Would changing this, fix it for Clean Water? SSurfaceTexture=water
It would be nice for it to reflect the starts and clouds and sky as it's just a Tropical Blue.. not realistic looking but nice none the less.
Maybe they could be higher def reflections on the water? LOD related?
I saw ReflectWaterLOD and all that stuff in the ini, couldn't get it work or could hardly see a difference. Installing mod now.
