This mod is seriously so much fun for such a small change! It really brings the quantum to life in the world space and is very fun to hold out in front of you like a dim glowstick
I know it should be self evident, but the performance impact of a mod like this is directly proportional to the number of shadow-casting lights within render radius. I've made a mod before that created player controlled large radius dynamic lights, and it only takes a dozen or so to start having a very noticeable impact on framerate.
In other words, fantastic mod, very pretty. Will look amazing in dungeons. But be careful when using them to decorate a settlement because you will drop frames much faster than you'd expect. This is why Skyrim's engine hard-capped the number of visible dynamic lights at 4, and will disable anything beyond that. I was always surprised Fallout 4 doesn't do the same.
Not as far as I'm aware. Skyrim does it purely via the engine, and in fallout 4 it would require a F4SE plugin as neither scripts nor quests have a good way to search and disable/replace lights, especially addon objects like these bottles use.
That said, it's not like this mod introduces a permanent performance hit. If the lights are impacting your framerate more than you want, just pick some up until your FPS returs to desired levels.
Yep, although it's not really the amount of lights per se but the amount of culling overhead and shadow casting said lights create. You could have 20 shadow casters in a room with a couple chests and there isn't going to be an issue. Conversely you could have 4 fov160 spots near a bunch of blown out buildings and it's going to nuke performance due to culling overhead combined with draw call overhead from rendering of the unculled shadows.
Exactly this. Thus the warning about these lights in particular and using them as settlement decorations, since settlements can have incredibly complex geometry and these are large range spherical shadow casters.
(later...) Tried it, love it, endorsed. Note, however, that it's not compatible with The Nuka Project. But now that I've used a Nuka Quantum as a flashlight, I won't be going back.

It will lag you like no one's business
there ya go. (that also includes quantum so you wont need this one if you have that one)
