So, are these just containers you can use to store things in, or when you teleport one in, is it filled from a leveled list with ammo / medical supplies, or something else?
I like the idea of these - if you're open to feedback, as a thought, they could also be added to some of the loot leveled lists, as well as courser or synth leveled lists, so you'd have a chance of nabbing one or more when you clear some Institute forces out of an area.
Also, if you wanted to expand it further, potentially a actual 'Supply cache' beacon that would have some misc crafting supplies or even shipments of crafting supplies.
Maybe also one with explosives, i.e. just focused on mines, grenades, missiles, etc.
One last thought - if you did add them to leveled lists, you could also have the crafting recipe locked behind getting to the Institute the first time (or have it tied to a magazine or book placed in the Institute or a Institute held area), as that would then explain how you got the 'knowledge' to craft them. Or if you wanted to get really crafty with it, you could make it so the actual 'supplies' supply drop one had a chance of spawning the schematics, but a very very low chance, so you wouldn't necessarily need to go to the Institute to craft them - you'd just need to be very lucky.
That is an excellent suggestion! This really was just a "scratch my own itch" type mod. I'm playing as an escaped synth, so my character stole an enhanced pip-boy that happened to have the schematics on it. ( I don't want to console in supplies when I run low anymore :D )
This first version was a proof of concept. I haven't even played with it yet.
That fits - I just like the idea that it could also be used as some decent random goodies for players as they go.
..Heh, if you really wanted to go crazy, you could make it so, randomly, you might get an item that'll hurt you (i.e. they think a escaped synth is pilfering supplies, but they aren't sure, and are trying to set traps..)
