I think I figured out how to get this legendary effect to spawn naturally, though I think it will require a new game to take effect, and it does result in a conflict with the base game's LegendaryItemQuest. Set the mod as the active file in the Creation Kit, create a new formlist and add the keyword WeaponTypeLaser to it. Open the quest LegendaryItemQuest, go to the Scripts tab, select the property LegendaryModRules, then on the right select Add Value. Set a01mod_Legendary_Weapon_BlueLaser for LegendaryObjectMod, and the formlist you created as the value for AllowedKeywords.
At least I'm pretty sure this will work based on the script for the quest.
Thank you thank you THANK YOU! I know this mod is dead and pretty minor, but I just found it and literally only needed it for a quality of life change. I had to fix the laser effect for the Institute version of the P90 and HAD to give the Institute version of the AS Vektor some ~flare~ and I couldn't find any type of small miniscule mod to give me what I needed.
And can confirm, this works flawlessly with ballistic weapons, no problem.
love the idea. does this work with laser muskets? if not it would be cool if you could add that :3 not sure why this mod hasn't gotten more views. definitely doing to share it.
This mod is great. Allows me to have unique blue laser instead of retexturing all laser weapons. I just noticed one thing with the Laser Musket. The beam that shoots out is blue but when you load charges into the musket the glow it emits when loaded is still red. Is there anyway to make that blue too? I hope you understand what I tried to say.
Yes, unfortunately it requires texture editing skills and modifying the laser musket .nif, which would make this mod incompatible with anything else that modifies the laser musket model.
