Took a quick glance in xEdit and it appears that this also removes Stimpak's ability to heal injured limbs. Might be worth noting on the main page, lol.
Thank you for making this mod. I thought that their move to make the stimpak have an animation was cool, but not to give us an option to disable it was kinda annoying. Their direction with the game was to make it more shooter friendly and fast paced, but when you needed a quick heal, you stop fighting to slowly inject this into your heart. Kinda weird and the flow of combat felt weird to me whenever I used stimpaks.
The addition of an animation to injecting a Stimpak, I think hails from the original games. In order to heal in combat, one had to open the inventory and select the Stimpak- which consumed Action Points.
Since Action Points were supposed to represent how much one could do in a given amount of time, Bethesda just cut the s#*! and made healing with Stimpaks take up real time, rather than be instant or consume AP.
Alright, but here's why it doesn't feel very cheaty to me. Sole Survivor: 1. is a veteran of the war with China. 2. can make a plasma gun phase emitter out of an alarm clock and a desk fan. 3. is trained in power armor repair, and power armor has stimpack auto-injection technology. 4. cannot, for some reason, attach certain scopes to certain rifles (Beth oversight) 5. cannot, for some reason, craft auto-stimpacks despite them being available in previous Fallout games. (Apparently, Mojave technology has out-paced frontline tech of the war with China. Another Bethesda oversight.)
I suppose my dream immersive mod would have SS sacrifice a power armor frame to create animation-less stimpack technology, but since you get power armor in the first 20 minutes of the game, I'll let this minor oversight stand. This apathy towards "not having to sacrifice a frame" is driven home by the fact that when I start wearing armor around I have at least 5 suits sitting in my garage.
My opnion: no more cheaty than a mod that lets you put any scopes on any weapon. My immersion justification: SS stripped a power armor frame of its direct-inject hardware and wears it inside his chestpiece.
I mean, you guys realize food is devoured and heals instantly, right? It's a massive inconsistency and makes food better than medicine, which is stupid.
you know how much times i got killed in survival because of that f*#@ing animation and also my character geting stuck in place after the animation? yeah i'm totally downloading this, f*#@ this animation.
What I don't like is not Stimpak having animation, but that Stimpak is the only one with animation, which annoys me. Thanks for this mod. Likely will be using it until someone added animation for food and chem, haha.
like taking to much of something will kill you (instantly or slowly if not used in moderation) Different types of drugs ,visual effects, animated character reactions to withdrawal, faction of junkies that you could possibly join

which would make sense if you couldn't just chug nuka quantums or chow down several steaks in 1 second
Thanks for this little gameplay enrichment mod
won't download.
trying not to judge others....
