I created this mod for myself but it was suggested I release it - so with a bit of polishing "here it is"! Update V1.7 includes fixes, thinner base, and extra Mannequin types (PowerArmor, Dog and Cat). X-Cell and MCM Supported. No need to recreate your Mannequins - just upgrade to V1.7 via your Mod Manager. Select the same install options though. DO NOT restart your game with this mod removed (otherwise you will loose all the equipment on your mannequins). Note: If you use the optional patches for other Pose mods, you will need to update these too.
Stomping noise when in a Pose? V1.7 will automatically set posed Mannequins to Frozen to stop this.
Read the FAQ on the description tab before asking further questions. This Mod is almost complete but I am happy to entertain suggestions (and of course fix bugs) but please note the following.... - I will not remove the Base, it is required (though you can select it to be thinner/invisible during Install). Or replace the mesh with your own. - You must select the base (not the Mannequin) when in Workshop mode to move/scrap it. - If the Mannequin is in a 'pose' it may be difficult to select the base in Workshop, so move around the back and try the edge of the base. - Alternately Use the Mannequin Menu to "Hide" it so you can select the base when in Workshop Mode. - The Dog is quite big so may not be positioned well on the stand, also I cannot stop it's 'play' animations if it is set 'animated'. - I am not an artist so don't complain about the body/face of the Male/Female Mannequins. Modify it yourself via the "Modify" option. - Changing the Face/Hair of a Mannequin changes ALL Mannequins made from that same choice in the "Race/Sex" menu . Game Bug. - If you want variety in your Human mannequins choose "Extra Mannequins" (during install) which gives you 10 more mannequin choices. - I only report average damage per hit based on what I get from an onhit event - blame Bethesda... - As damage (health loss) is dependent on many things in your game/mod list, consider this only useful as a personal damage comparison. - If you don't like the Poses I have included you can always replace them. See this article (and the optional downloads) for help. - The invisible base is now thinner and without the Arrow. You may need to Change the Race (to the same) so Mannequin touches the ground. - There is no Xbox release unless someone asks.
Suggestion - the existing mod Smart Mannequin allows you to just swap your existing clothes with what's on the mannequin. Could you incoirporate that functionality into your mod?
That sounds like quite a bit of work from me to save - what? 10 seconds of your time moving a few clothing items to the dummy (especially if using fallui). I can't see how this swap would be done often enough to justify the effort...
Hmmm... After thinking on this for probably a lot longer than you'd believe, it probably isn't worth the effort. I did note before I posted that the permissions for Smart Mannequin allowed free asset re-use, which I assumed would also include their code/scripts. Cannibalizing existing code would make the effort a LOT less, but I don't know how easy that would be to do or use.
I actually use both a lot. Yours is great to add fake population to a settlement, especially because yours don't get randomly-placed when the cell loads (unlike 'real' settlers). Their outfit swap is great for complicated outfits, especially when combined with another (cheaty) mod that allows me to copy my armor & clothing directly onto a settler.
Thank you for replying, though. And thank you for your mod!
Ah - that mod is only the swap function! I thought it was a new mannequin with swap functions... So I could add this feature, or make a patch so it worked with my Mannequins, but the real issue is what actually do people want to swap? Entire outfits, just armor, or just non-armor? I would probably make it swap entire outfits (everything the player/mannequin are wearing). Is that what you are suggesting?
My vote: entire worn/equipped outfit, definitely...
Though I'd want to also keep the Change Armor And Weapons function too (separate); because sure as Supermutant Suiciders, I'd transfer over nineteen things I wanted to and one I didn't.
No hurry, no problem! I always figure that if I want it done quickly and/or exactly my way, I can: 1) do it myself (which will NOT be quick); or 2) employ (=pay) someone to do it (and I don't have the money!). Otherwise, I can only ask and suggest. Especially with 'modding Fallout 4' where at least most (if not every and all) tools to do so, are completely free.
It may be possible/quicker to patch that smart mannequin mod to target my Mannequins, but I have no modding environment with me so can't even look to see if that is possible - so sorry.
I have made a patch so that Smart Mannequins Mod will work with my Mannequins. I "may" at some point add the option into the Mannequin's menu (so you don't need SM), but for now this will work for you.
It should be possible as Proto Argonian is a new Race, but I can't see any 'Feline' version on Nexus. Also what do you mean by "used within 1 save by adding them to workshop"? There is only one Workshop item for TP Mannequins always. If I make a patch for another Race it just adds that as an option when you "Change Race" on any created Mannequin (new or existing).
Added a ProtoArgonian patch. This adds 2 extra items in the "Change Race/Sex" mannequin menu - ProtoArgonian Male & Female Mannequins. They are just taken from the 1st Male and 1st Female NPC templates in the ProtoArgonian Race.
oh i thought i can have only 1 race mannquins at a time, also this is the mod im talking about : https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/90862?tab=description
You can only add one "extension" mod at a time because they all edit the same Formlist of races (TPD_Mannequins). These optional downloads are 'examples' as I just choose one (M&F) template of each race, which may not be the one you want. There is nothing stopping you from merging multiple patches as only the Formlist "TPD_Mannequins" needs to be altered to have all the Mannequin types you want (and the MESG record that lists their names).
As noone else has ever had this issue it must be something with your game - what game version (OG/NG/downgradedNG)? English or Multi-language? An upgrade or a first time install? What body replacers (other than CBBE)? Any dog/dogmeat mods? Is it straight after creating the base, or after equiping the mannequin with something? Did you change any default settings before switching? (frozen, bodypart damage, etc)?
Well, I never worked out how to tell when an animation had finished so I just give them a couple of seconds - so that will curtail anyone creating Disco idles to add as poses - so we are safe!
Is it possible to make a patch for FemSynth - SexBots. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/65198?tab=files The problem is that the mannequin always has a male head and neck. Or even make a sex change so male of female could be chosen.
Synths are a seperate race to Human and all clothing is race specific, though most have the 'Additional Races' field populated with SynthGen1Race, SynthGen2Race, and GhoulRace. Not all though, as you have found. Had a quick look and it looks like a dog's breakfast - many have SynthGen1 but not SynthGen2 (like the Mayor's hat). Many have no additional races at all. No real reason just - Bethesda...
Have a look for a mod that allows Nick/synths to wear anything - it probably fixes all these...
Actually, a better way would be to suggest to the author that they set the "Armor Race" of their modified Synth 2 race as "HumanRace" - then they could wear any clothing that Humans can wear. Nothing further needs changing.
Looksmenu allows you to export and import the look of an NPC so you could run looksmenu on the NPC/player and export their look, then import that when using the change features option on a mannequin. All Mannequins of a type will end up looking the same when they reload (you fast travel away and return).
I've noticed there seems to be some issues with weapons displaying. Minor positions with some vanilla guns but mostly mod added swords. Swords like the Vertibird Sword and Cross Blades will only show up briefly but disappear. AnotherOne CyberOut swords seem to show up just fine. Maybe this might be an issue with Dave's poses, or the mod added weapons themselves? Figured I'd ask.
Very few poses I have looked at support swords properly. I don't do anything apart from equip the current weapon before running the pose - the pose itself handles the weapon (including drawing it) so that is where you need to look. I have only really looked at sword poses supplied by Dave's Poses, and only with a standard sword...

How often/why would you use such a feature?

For now...
I am using [My Little Nanako 3].How can I reflect my character on a mannequin?
I was able to use a mannequin on Nanakochan!
