Just want to say thank you for doing this. I loved the project, but it was super ambitious for my skill level at the time (my first mod) and I'm so happy that someone with more skill at modding could make an updated and improved version.
You're doing great work here. Thank you! I edited the original mod's page to provide a big link to this mod.
Killable Children is not compatible with Start Me Up, Use Immersive Killable Children with Size Fix or Mortal Youths.
Disable True Damage at the start. Only enable them after you're already loaded into Commonwealth. True Damage will cause Infinite Loading Screen when enabled before character creation but otherwise it is compatible.
Wait a few minutes in the bathroom before you walk out if you have a lot of mods.
Horizon Patch is not compatible with version 7.0+ and is now removed. I will not make them again, but if you want to make a patch. DM me and I'll help you with how to make them.
Mod Organizer 2 is recommended as the mod manager to be used with Start me Up. Start Me Up is very sensitive to load order and it's much easier to arrange load order with MO2 than Vortex.
You cannot talk to Nick Valentine and start Reunions if you haven't listened to the holotape from Vault 111. This is not a bug, it's a quest.
- Please read the description page thoroughly -
More information about the mod can be read in the >>> original Start Me Up page Original Start Me Up will conflict with Start Me Up Redux, do not download it
Not compatible with Next Gen Update - I'll update it when more mods get updated for Next Gen, I want mod ecosystem to become more stable first. but the good news is that Reunion quest fix is coming
Further focus on bug fixes will be - Various issues during Reunion and Dangerous Mind. - Ending slides does not change for non-vanilla characters. - Copies of player character appearing in Dangerous Mind in alternate start. Instead of default Nate/Nora.
These will take a while since there's a lot of scripting edit involved and I'm budy.
What I want to update - Redo Codsworth dialogues, new affinity conversation for alternate start characters
Non-Start Me Up but related dialogue mods - Post-Blind Betrayal Danse dialogue mods
A new version of Fallout 4 is coming and therefore F4SE has to be updated again. I'll wait it until the end of the year at this point until I update my mod
Current version works with next gen barring some bugs.
Downgrade your game and use older version of UFO4P for now.
I can't update the next gen patch without many of my mods breaking, that's why. and I'm too busy to redo my modlist for temporary patching. So when the major mods are pulling out their updates, I'll follow through
I don't know if you're still looking into this, but I have a similar issue on Xbox as well. Not only that, but the Normal/XDI version of SMUR and the patches associated are completely missing as well. Luckily I favorited the FDI version and patches prior to them being removed, but I still wish that they were available for others to download, as this mod should be enjoyed by all, regardless of platform. Although, I do wish it was updated recently (on Xbox) with the changes made in at least 7.4, if not at least 7.2 (I want to do an Enclave Remnant playthrough, but that was only re-added during 7.2).
Did you manage to get into contact with OddLittleTurtle? I don't want to contact them if they're already aware of the issue. But if they are busy, I would love to know that as well. I am patient, but I would want to know if the issue is being looked at, rather than just assume that it is.
They seem to show up if you use the links directly from his page but they will not show up in any searches which is frustrating because my Bethesda.net mods library is not showing up on my Series X even though I have them "downloaded" and favorited. I tried starting a new game without the Nuka World patch (because I can't find it on Xbox) and everything seemed to work as normal but after making all my choices, "Enough, I'm ready to wake up" simply didn't appear so I was stuck in character creation limbo.
This mod is literally the only way I play the game now so you can understand that I'm eagerly awaiting some help or a fix. Thanks.
I checked it on my end, and doesn't look like it updated to the newest version. I also checked the in-game mod search, as well as the Bethesda Mods site: the FDI patches of the mod, as well as the Normal/XDI version and patches are still missing. Like I said in my reply before, this really isn't an issue for me since I've already installed and favorited them before, but unfortunately new/returning players would be unable to install it.
Since OddLittleTurtle handles the console port of SMUR, I don't think it is your fault/responsibility (not saying it is his either, since really this issue started after the Next-Gen Update), but I wanted to let you know just in case.
Doesn't look like the mod has been updated and still can't find the Nuka World patch or the Shawn face patch on Bethesda.net search. I can find them in my saved library but that doesn't help because the library is not transferring to my Series X other than half a dozen mods. That's not an issue related to the mod itself but they don't even show up in search and in the description says they've been moved to "WIP" until being updated.
Basically I'm stuck because I won't play the vanilla version anymore and "Reunions" is bugged as the mag-locked door by the upper section of the control room won't open. Tested it twice, happened both times.
I'm using SMURFDI and have the latest UFO4P but not the SMURFDI Nuka World patch.
It works okay now, but it IS NOT compatible with project valkyrie or other mods from that author. Also i have another bug, Nora looks like my character but in the description it says author changed Nora and Nate apparance to default.
seriously is the dlc SERIOUSLY a needed requirement????? let us have the option for people who literally cant get the dlc. plenty of mods have the option especially mods like this.
I'm curious, having not played the Sim Settlements 2 questline before, what about it forces you to play the concerned parent and why must you start at level one?
Getting back into fallout after a while and these were the two key mods I was wanting to try out.
You play it and you'll know, Sim Settlement 2 story was written to be fitting to vanilla quests, and therefore a lot of mention about Shaun and stuff in the story
I have 10 separate profiles using this mod. All of which are still being played. None of which have completed the main story.
If I download this current update to my PC will it break all my playthroughs?
I turned off, and did the 'read-only' block on my Steam version auto-updates, for Fallout 4 and New Vegas. So I do not have the Next Gen Update.
I have a lot of time - and a number of YT episodes - with many of these characters. I don't want to have to delete everything and start new games for all of them (*again*). I had issues with Vortex, switched to MO2, had some issues installing, reinstalled everything multiple times until I knew everything worked, and did not get game breaking mods. I don't want to have to start all over again for a 9th time. Yes, I'm still a gaming-with-mods novice. I've only been using mods for 5 years.
To conclude, if I grab this 7.2(?) 7.4(?) update, will it break my games even though most of them have not spoken with Nick or advanced the Main Story much?
Huge changes between 6.11 and the current version, I wouldn't recommend you to switch it on existing save.
However 8.0 (Next Gen SMUR) is going to come out in a few months - Depends on how fast Bethesda and other core mods makers like F4SE are going to be, there's another official update cooking at the moment and it'll break mods again - and I'm waiting for it to release before continuing on Start Me Up Redux. Which might have some significant change.
Just curious (I'm a novice), but if downloaded the current version of SMUR onto a new Profile for a new character on my MO2, would that cause problems for all my other characters' Profiles? As in, I do not click "Update", but I just grab the current (non-Next Gen version) and install it, would that work on that profile, or does any version I install affect every single profile once enabled on only 1? Are they linked in that way? Or can I run 3 Profiles using ver 6.11, and 4 others with ver 7.2/4 and have no issues?
Again, I'm a novice, my apologies for asking a potentially dumb question. I'm slow to learn. But I learn. :-D
When you say "Current version works with next-gen barring some bugs", could we get a thread/forum post of those bugs? Would be helpful to have a place to discuss fixes and workarounds

This problem is due to mod conflict for anything that override institute quest and script
