Its been a while since my last message and I want to apologize for that. I didnt really have time to update my mod or add additional features. Unfortunately I will not continue any work on that mod. I want to thank all of you for your kind words! It is just awesome to see that so many people like my mod! Thanks guys!
But I was thinking about creating a Lofi Radio mod for Starfield in the future when Bethesda finally releases the creation kit. Also an updated version for the upcoming Fallout 4 next gen update would be worth considering. So stay tuned for possible releases!
Here is just a short "fix" if you encounter the issue that the radio stops playing after a few hours. It seems that other radio mods have this issue as well that the music randomly stops playing after a while. So it looks like a problem in the game engine itself or the save files.
A possible solution would be:
Disable/deactivate the RockySatellite.esp in your mod manager (dont unistall the mod)
Load your last save and create a new save
Exit the game and enable the RockySatellite.esp in you mod manager again
Start the game and load the save that you have created before. The radio should now be playing again.
New Version 1.1.0 The updated version does not require any DLCs anymore. You can use it with just the base game. Also added a radio to the settlement building menu, which is tuned to Rocky Satellite Radio (can be found under DECORATIONS -> MISCELLANEOUS).
The mod will not be continued If you have further suggestions, feel free to post them here. I'll take a look into them and if they are not too complex, I will consider to add it.
Bugs and issues: If you encounter bugs or other issues, feel free to post them here or the "BUGS" section and I take a closer look into it. I will upload fixes or updates if necessary.
Notes from the author: If you are wondering who the voice actor of the radio host is.. yeah, I am the voice behind him. I know.. I'm not very good in voice acting but my native language is german.. so it was quite a challenge to record all the lines in english.
Before you ask if I could make a german version, even though my main language is german, I don't know yet. It's a lot of work to translate and record all the lines and put them in the game. Like I said on the description page - this is my first mod I have ever created on my own.. so it takes me about 10x longer to make or change mods than any other skilled mod author out there. There are still so many things to learn.
Hello, love the audio you put here. But somehow the radio just won't start any audio whatsoever after hours of playthrough. I did the quest, and the radio dude still exist no problem, currently there's no music though :(
Thanks! Yeah I had the same issues after playing a bunch of hours. Tbh I cant really find the cause of that bug, but other radio mods encounter a very similar problem. So it seems to be an issue in the game engine itself or the save files. I add a possible solution in the sticky notes above. Sorry for the late response.
Can anybody upload a picture of location on the pip boy map? i have the quest but no marker and have no clue where to go XD. All of my other quests show a marker so im not sure what the problem is.
Loving this mod so far. Excellent music to build settlements to. The quest was short and sweet and I love that the station needs to be unlocked.
Couple of notes. I seem to hear the radio host after every song. If this could be spread out a bit, that would be great.
Speaking of the voice actor, I think you did a great job. I wouldn't mind an eventual remaster where you take a few more pauses. It seems very much like someone reading a script than acting t one again this is minor. I bring it up only because I think with slight changes this would flow seemlessly with the rest if the game.
Also the radio host himself does not look like he should have the voice he has. I would love to see a custom model this npc.
Critisms aside, I endorsed this mod. Love the work. Thank you!
There are 41 deleted records in the mod. So far there are no issues, but I feel like it might cause trouble in the future. Are the deleted records the encounter markers? Is it possible to just disable them?
thanks for looking into it. Yeah, those are the random encounter triggers/markers right in front of the station. I just deleted them for now but can also recover it pretty easy with fo4edit.
It didn't cause problems for me, it's just something that might cause problems. And yes, I was able to just undelete the records and set them to initially disabled.
Man not only did you make a really nice radio station, you also give the host a down to earth vibe to him, must be the accent lol. Seriously though, Alot of content for such a simple concept with alot of love put into it. Amazing work, definitely a permanent stay in my load order
