I tried the "experimental" version 2 and found that the gauss and mortar turrets didn't have barrels, just the turret frames. (I don't have any mods that alter the gauss rifle.)
I have the esp last in my order and didn't see any conflicts when I did a quick look in FO4Edit. The only possibly funky thing I noticed is that, under "object modification", the model filename for the mortar is "Weapons\Broadsider/Broadsider.nif" so maybe, for that one, it's just a matter of the front/backslashes? Just a guess... I have zero experience in modding FO4 myself. The gauss rifle had "Weapons\GaussRifle\GaussRifle.nif" so looked okay. I.E. if that has anything to do with it.
Can you up the lvl / defense of the turret a bit. I'm getting really annoyed at every peasant raider being able to destroy them with a stinking pipe rifle.
Alternatively, click the turret in console and type "modav health #" without quotations and where the # is the additional amount of HP you wanna give it. (I usually use 90000 on my turrets, which makes 'em pretty much indestructible.) You can first use the "getav health" command to make sure you're clicking on the turret and not just air - turrets usually have around 100 to 150 HP.
Alternatively, navigate to the turret's record in xEdit and change the Health record fragment. That will make every turret you place have that health value. I set mine to 250 to account for my damage mults.
I don't suppose you'd consider making a patch for Settlement Keywords (SK)...? A lot of mods that add things to settlements are using it now, as by doing so you fix a lot of bugs related to having multiple mods that add settlement objects.
Will give it a try, but in my eyes the dmg/required power ratio is bad. Two heavy laser turrets add up to 24 DMG (or protection) and they consume only 4 units of power compared to the five of the plasma turret. Maybe you could make an additional file where that ratio is equal or slightly better to a heavy laser turret :-)
It costs more electricity but actually I find the building cost very cheap (does not require so much more components compared to the standard turet, but is 4 times as powerfull! ) so maybe it balances it?
heyy i know im a minority here but i have my pure science character with no need for gun nut other than to play with this mod haha... I was thinking to ask, maybe if you make an updates or anything in the future; perhaps remove the gun nut and give nuclear phsyics requirement to one of the turrets, perhaps the flamer or something... i just give myself the perk in console temporarily... anything to help the local ecology and turn everything to green goo
"The workshop won't let me build Plasma Petard. When I select it, the build specs show up but the 5 power indicator is red and it won't show the turret to place it." Same. Nothing helps.
Not sure why. But I cannot build the Petard either. I get the same thing that you have even though I have TONS of energy to build items. Has the mod designer ever even commented on here? Still a great mod. I guess I'm just a little OCD because of the one thing that isnt working.

Just a suggestion - love this mod! <3
Could you replace the basic gun turrets with a pipe version like this http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7757/?
It's so annoying that people run around with pipe weapons but build high-tech shiny turrets.
Is it possible to translate the names in other languages?
I just find those turrets a bit overpowered compared to others. 20 defence each looks a lot.
Would it be possible to customize it?
Same. Nothing helps.
