Hello I have an issue. I have installed and reinstalled just in case but the MCM still show the Error ; missing 3dscopes.esp I'm confused, what can I do ? thanks a lot
If you use the replacer version select the replacer version in FOMOD installer. If you don't use the replacer, check that the esp really exists and is active in your load order.
The problem is for people like me who installed manually and can't find the issue. When you manually install it's just a copy and paste into the Data folder, but one of your files is looking for the normal ESP and not the replacer, so it can't be fixed on our end. Edit: I made 100% sure that it wasn't able to be fixed on our side by finding the Fomod files that search for the plugin, and deleting the command line that uses the Add function and not the Replace one, plus even making sure every line in the Config replaced 3dscopes.esp with 3dscopes-replacer.esp and all for naught.
You should really use a mod manager, it will makes your live much much easier ;) Have you renamed the config-replacer.json to config.json if you use that? The requirement check is really no high-tech: Its just a ESP file name, and exactly that file name must be available in your DATA to pass the check.
I'll try renaming the file itself but it's certainly annoying that I have to do such a thing. And on the topic of Mod Managers, I'm a very hands-on person who learns from doing and have found that I can extract files directly much better than using some third party service, it's just easier for me. Maybe clicking one thing to install a mod would be the easiest option, but I prefer the hard way.
I know I'm late to this thread, but just be aware, if you are a hands on person, you can't be any MORE hands on than using a Mod Manager like MO2 or something. You'll be limited in your ability to mod if you stubbornly stick to thinking that manually installing mods is somehow a more in depth process than using a mod organizer. You don't get to run 500-1500 mods without being "hands on". My Fallout 4 is at 756 mods, and my SkyrimAE is at 1062.
^This. Ditch NMM; ditch Vortex; stop dropping files in the Data folder. Just get MO2; it's just better and it won't take that long to learn the ins and outs.
I agree with you but not for fallout 4 unless you're going to do a patch for the whole game afterwards. I did manual modding for witcher 3 using script merger but this involves alot more technical work and various tools like xedit, bodyslide, complex sorters for normalized tags.. Its one of the hardest games i've modded since you have to learn new tools and mod managers make the process very easy. Especially for me having good results with vortex never have crashed once with it.
Best way is to create a patch marking the item unplayable. As an example you can take a look at the NAC MCM settings i made, where i have made a patch like it for hiding the original apparel item.
Drop it in a box out in the wasteland and walk away? Personally I stick em in a dead-storage locker in my home. Never know when you might need it again.
