Why lose the thigh armour though?

You misunderstand; this replaces the Light combat armor, which was JUST the thigh plate.
Now it's lower leg armor, like all other Light armors are.
The Medium and Heavy combat armors are unchanged.

I'm sorry i never saw this before today, woulda been nice over the last.... 9 years lmao.... nexus sucks for finding anything that isn't boobs or 5-foot-wide butts

Would this be possible to do with the Classic Combat Armor mod? Perhaps a patch?

Not really as the thigh contains major arteries, you're better off protecting that area.

Yes MrNaySmith but the trouble with thigh combat armour is it doesn't protrect from the front, but sits around the side and gets in the way of anything you might want to strap on to your hip or upper thigh area, and is thus doubly un-useful. I'd rather protect my knees or shins (from bullets, molerats, or just scrambling around on the ground).
