If gmoi ever comes back the only thing I'd love is their version of the munitions energy ammo types - small energy cells, electron charge packs, and the plasma cores.
I'm on the Xbox and still haven't gotten around to trying this out due to the limited mod space we have, but I'm thinking I'll try squeeze this one in. Your texture work is incredible. The laser hazard warning symbols on the weapons is a nice touch. Hoping this works with Dak's recent attachment pack mod. Will likely check out your pipe weapon retextures too.
As someone who plays on both Xbox and PC, this mod is worth the limited mod space on consoles. Plus it still works with all the different weapon paintjobs from the Creation Club.
nothing seems to be conflict, but i try uninstall, then ingame to equip that weapon, installed it again, then load game, there is no crash, even if i change to another weapon, then change it back but this time the preview image shows up
but then i reboot the game with another weapon, and hover/to click the weapon, and it crash again it seems when it always crash when it try to load the preview image, i dont know if its just out of memory crash
Only Bethesda archive extractor (BAE) supports BC7 - other archive extractors don't support it. If you use Bethesda archive extractor I don't know what the issue is - had no problem with the files packed or unpacked.
That being said, unpacking textures files is not a great idea as it will introduce lag when switching weapons as the game loads the files.
You two definitely have some other mod that is causing these issues, texture mods will almost never cause a crash on their own. Texture mods will always reference the last mod in a load order, and so they will never fundamentally crash as the game.
gmoi6 is only responsible for his mod, and it's your responsibility to fix your own crashes with your own mods. No author is going to be able to address conflicts against EVERY mod on the Nexus and elsewhere in the best circumstance. That said, I wish you the best of luck. If I were to offer a place to start, you may have a mod that makes changes to laser weapons .nifs or something equivalent.
probably a mod that changes the preview texture path to a non existing preview image, that would do the trick of making your game CTD. But if that is the case, it will always crash when you do that, not most of the time, but always.
Or you uninstalled mods in your current savegame or something like that, can cause CTD troubles too when stuff referred to in the savegame is no longer there.
I'd recommend you load all your mods up in FO4Edit and look up the preview image in Fallout4.esm and see if any other mod overrides the texturepath there. If not, it's probably a corrupt savegame. You can try clean it with resaver, maybe you get lucky.
You were half right, the problem comes from this Mod, but not the author fault, if you extract it with Archive2 8 textures will be broken causing crashes, if you extract it with BAE it will come right.
And yes extracting is not a good idea but some people like me does merge most of his texture mods in one archive so a little warning here.
This pack is amazing! Really breathes new life into the laser weapons. Any chance of getting a similar pack with your take on improving the look of the plasma weapons in game? I'd love to see something like that.
Hey Gmoi? Any chance you could create an electron charge pack texture in the same style as your fusion cells? Codeblackcrash uploaded a new mod which creates an ammunition framework that is used in their unofficial patches. They added an electron charge pack and small energy cell for use. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/66051
If not I understand, figured never hurts to ask. :)
