This mod doesn't add new weapons, it adds new muzzle mods to vanilla weapons. The first one you can craft is for the 10mm pistol, and it requires Gun Nut 2 and Science 2.
I'll be damned, someone else did make this before me. This works the exact same way as that, but it addresses the suppressor issue by making them mutually exclusive. Legendaries that change projectiles will still conflict, unfortunately.
This should not be hard to expand upon . I will swap it to magazine though from barrel for sure ammo change. Nice concept FreedomFlame. Getting Aliens vibes with smart ammo or Titanfall.
It needs to be a muzzle mod because suppressors cause projectile changes, which will disable the change from a hitscan to a seeking projectile. Most weapons that change ammo type don't actually change the projectile, unless it's, say, a shotgun conversion.
Hot damn, that's cool! I've thought about this as a Fallout mod before, but I didn't think I'd see someone actually make it. Am I right in guessing that this is applying the Targeting Computer effect from missile launchers to regular guns? If that's what you did, I'm a little surprised it hasn't been done before (or maybe it was and I just never heard about it). In any case, respect for pulling it off!
That's exactly how it works, yeah. Honestly surprised I'm the first one to do this, considering how easy it was to make.
The hardest part was putting together working VFX for the bullets, there was a weird bug with the default tracers where the effect would shoot due north instead of homing on the target, so I had to learn NifSkope and make some new ones to replace them.
