Fallout 4

About this mod

Regular sized (2K) & Up-scaled (4K), enhanced and greener landscape textures. It's goal is to put a bit of life into the wasteland, without turning it into a lush forest/jungle, but just hanging on, trying to survive like everything else.

This is a texture set covering most of the landscape/nature textures to create a greener wasteland. In 4K & 2K.

Some time ago I set out to create my own set of textures to put a bit more life into my wasteland wilderness. Not too much though, as I didn't want to turn the place into a lush jungle, but wanted to retain a desolate look as much as possible. I checked a lot of the greener mods out there, but non suits my needs, either to much, or lacking (trees for example). So I set out to create my own.

These have all been up-scaled (x2), a lot where enhanced (sharper/clearer/bumpier/ etc)
This means all 1K textures are now 2K and all 2K are now 4K. A few, like tree's and the vines are available in 8K too (separately).
Many where changed for a greener look ranging from some specks of green and brown, to complete redraws.

Version 2 has been further enhanced and some where redone completely for even better results.
NOTE: If you are upgrading you might want to delete the old ones first as this version has a few less normals & specular maps (they added nothing but space)

My 'Nature' is supposed to be just hanging on to life, trying to survive. Like every other living thing in the commonwealth.
At least, that was the goal. Just like I wanted this to be a texture only mod.

Most of these where up-scaled using a mix of GIMP and the NoHalo interpolation, AI Upscaling using ESRGAN (with the Cupscale GUI) & various models (mostly Misc_220000 & BSRGAN), modifications by hand and a high pass filter to finish it of.

I up-scaled some of the related SetDressing textures you will encounter too: rubble.
& of course the Terrain files with a modified Commonwealth.Objects texturemap, DetailNormals & Noise.

I tried to use or stay true to the original textures as much as possible.
The fern was swapped for a new 'Boston fern'. Not the best looking fern in existence i fear, but it is the appropriate one.
The Spanish Moss is brand new, next to the new leaves on the Maple & Elm trees and of course the (common) Ivy.

For a 4x2K or 16x8K version of my ElmAtlas textures, or one without the leaves, see: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/59140
For a 4x2K or 16x8K version of my MapleAtlas02 textures, or one without the leaves, see: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/55042
For a 2,4 or 8K version of my vines01 with ivy, see: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/55561
For a 2,4 or 8K version of my Spanish Moss Pack, see: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/55920

Note: These are available in various color variants as well.

This mod covers (post-war):
Landscape
 - Dirtcliffs (4K)
 - Grass (1-4K)
 - Ground (4K)
 - Plants (2-4K)
- Roads (4K)
 - Rocks (4K)
 - Trees ((8x)4K)

SetDressing
 - Rubble (4K)

Terrain (various)

It only includes new normal & specular maps where needed (e.g.: added leaves)

As of version 2 it now includes pre-war & institute textures.
It does not include any textures from the DLC's. (I might check on those later)

The main download contains all textures, including LOD.

Future plans:
- Check the DLC's plants & tree's

- Maybe turn it into an .esp with .ba2 file, instead of 'loose files'.

Well, I hope you'll all enjoy my take on a better looking game as much as I do.
Have fun ;)
