Goddamn it, one of these f***ing cows just spawned in The Castle, even though I had a mod to avoid the Radio beacon attracting them, but it seems to have failed and the stupid beast showed up uninvited anyway. I'm gonna try your mod and move the Brahmin to a deserted settlement. I'm not heartless enough to just put a bullet in them, but God, I hate these stupid animals.
Thanks for this! I tried to make a mod like this for myself once, but I could never get the "Move" menu option to show up no matter how much I tinkered in the CK. I've just been killing the Brahmin I don't want, but now I don't have to feel guilty lmao
Edit: I just saw your description about existing Brahmin not having the move option so that was probably my issue! With my mod I never tried it with newly-spawned Brahmin.
Please let me know if this works for you after you've tested with newly spawned Brahmin. It is just one property added to the workshop script for brahmin. Junkyard dogs captured in traps were already moveable, I just applied the same property to 'workshop brahmin'.
For existing bramin, you could try targeting the brahmin in the console then execute 'setpv ballowmove 1' from the console. This should set the correct property and allow you to then manage the selected brahmin. I'm not sure the setting will persist between saves however.
Greetings~ rlbaxter & niston a question? Would these console code bits n bobs also allow settlers to be moved? Like the Sanc. gang or the 2 chickadees at Oberland. Yours, Mr. Knowbody
Yes these codes should work with any NPC that has the workshop script attached. This would include settlers. For example: you could use these commands to make the Sanctuary settlers moveable between settlements. I believe there is a mod out there that adds these flags to all vanilla 'named' settlers making them moveable, but I don't recall the name. I ran across it in a Google search.
Using Place Anywhere you can pick em up and toss em elsewhere. That is one of my gripes with brahmin as well. I'm not aware of any way to keep them out of interiors, or off of the roofs of homes (Sanctuary).
However with workshop brahmin, they usually stay close to a placed brahmin trough. Caravan brahmin are another issue.
You can console place yourself a pile of Hay Bales... and then select them 1 by 1 in the workshop and move them around... to pile up farm looking hay bale barricades I actually use them like bricks to pile up a wind shelter and ie., I piled them all around the ranger cabin to stop them from going into it and they stopped even trying to... once you get your stack of hay bales up high as a wall height you can snap AWNINGS to it to give the brahmins shelter too :)

However, keep in mind the mod only impacts workshop brahmin. It the brahmin is 'wild' i.e. not from a beacon or trap, it may not be moveable.

You can additionally do an "addkeyword workshopallowmove" to have the setting take effect immediately without reloading.
