Welcome to Brawlout (Beta)

Brawlout replaces almost all of the ranged weapons in fallout 4 to unarmed and melee weapons.

It's like skyrim, with post apocalyptic.

F.A.Q.

Who has had their weapons replaced?

So far everyone that I could change weapons for has been changed, including special ranged weapons. This includes raiders, minutemen, railroad, super mutants, BoS etc. I've also emptied most of the containers of ranged weapons. (but not ammo incase you're still using a gun for some reason). If a quest is broken because an npc needs a specific weapon, let me know in the posts.

Who hasn't been changed?

Some people are very attached to their weapons, even though I've removed the weapon from their inventory. This includes people like Preston and certain mission npc's. I also can't stop the npc's from looting ranged weapons. I've replaced most of the ranged weapons in containers but to keep this mod as compatible as possible, all the loose weapons laying around can be looted by enemies. If you know a lot about mission NPC's and how their weapons are equipped, feel free to message me. Until I can change everyone without cell edits, this mod will remain in beta.

What weapons are in the mod?

All the melee and unarmed weapons (minus special ones) are in one leveled list or another. Most of them are closely accurate to what kind of weapon each npc would use. Most civilians and raiders have a chance at all the melee/unarmed weapons.  NPC's like triggermen have bats, gunners have batons and knives, forged have shishkebobs etc. Also the DLC weapons are in the leveled list if you're using that version.

Do I have to start a new game?

Technically, no. I highly recommend that you do though. Any npc that already has a weapon, will keep that weapon. If you install it partway through a playthrough, areas you've already been to will not be affected. Only new areas.

Is this mod compatible with *insert mod here*?

The truth is, I don't know. This mod messes with every humanoid inventory (minus robots). The lower down it is in your load order, the more leveled lists it can overwrite and will work with mods that only alter clothes. Some containers leveled lists have been changed as well, so if you have a mod that only spawns in weapon containers, this mod won't be compatible. If you know how to make patches feel free to upload them, just make sure Brawlout is a required plugin.
