A lot was changed a while ago so I'm not exactly sure, I'll update soon right now this breaks a lot of quests Next update or complete redo will keep the existing vanilla insects but add new smaller types that flee without showing up as enemies
*I may create an optional edit that does change vanilla bugs but ones that don't touch quests
I was introduced to the game Fallout from New Vegas and when the v.a.s.t camera zoomed in to give a closeup of the bugs, it almost scared me to death, had to patch the replacement from then on.
So thank you DevourVR, It's one more option beyond replacement XD
I make adult Fallout 4 movies, and insects can be a huge part of environments, BUT, it needs to be "in addition to" the huge insects as so many amazing AAF themes and animations exist. This breaks all of them, it is un-usable because you change what is already ingame. If you added a smaller, variant without changing existing , really dangerous bugs, I would could and would use it. Sadly though, the game could really benifit from this, if only,, leave existing insects alone, they are amazing , mods revolve around them , like "NPC Travel",, this mod breaks so many great things. Love the concept, but if it can be done without breaking thousands of hours of amazing mod content would be great.
I too am guilty of said practises but i would like to offer my perspective as to why this mod is actually amazing, and that you as the comment author are solitary in your opinion. My perspective is that not everyone is a freak(y) guy
Now if they wouldn't do any damage but rather only add a short visual effect every few seconds it would make bloatflies and other small creatures more of a nuisance to have around during a firefight than an actual fight.
He's not solitary. The huge insects are in the lore. They mutated. Just like those two headed animals (Radstags, Brahmin) and Ghouls. The world of Fallout is about mutations, the world isn't the same as it was, many new things emerged from the aftermath of the bombs. Radiation changed a lot of things, including insects. This mod isn't just breaking those mods, it's also breaking the lore.
This mods idea is amazing. I'm using it and testing it out, i just think this game needs more mods like this. I so wish mod developer would return to develop this.
I could, I'm off creating videos at the moment but when I do come back I'd like to make this an addition to wildlife. So completely new smaller hand placed insects - as well added animated for ponds lakes and rivers
If I could add a suggestion, I like the idea of small insects like these, and maybe the radiation aspect is that they are highly irradiated (but still survive). So their danger comes from being small (hard to see), come in numbers, and do very little physical damage, but a lot of radiation damage. So for example, radscorpions are emperor scorpions have venom that is not too damaging, like in real life, but is irradiated so in effect is pumping radioactive fluids into your body. Same with bloodbugs, blotflies etc.
