Ok, so I download playthrough and try to listen Alarm Generic, Industrial Ammo Box, First Aid, Looting from the dead, Wood Crate, NPC Typing Institute Console, Klaxon, Stealth Boy and Turret Alarm all in the playthrough to see if I like the sound style... easy. Better then the modder post a video with samples.
Sorry for the lack of video, the mod is in an unfinished state and it would take me a long time to make a video. (the one I just made for my most recent mod took me 3-5 hours) I'll see if I can do an alternitive to a video.
Edit: I've uploaded a file to preview the sounds, I'm sorry it's not something better but hopefully it will do for now.
That works fine as well, thanks! I'm able to actively listen and pick and choose which ones I want which in this case is a better alternative. I've found that it isn't actually necessary to convert to XWM all the time, you can just keep it as WAV files.
Yeah I know but I always compare my mods to how Bethesda have packed their files so if they're converted, I convert and if they're left as WAV I leave as well.
Uhm... isn't there some copyright issues here? I mean, did you get permission from Creative Assembly/Feral Interactive, to use these sound files? Not sure if this is allowed on the Nexus. You should find out pretty quickly.
On the other hand, think I'll load up that game again for another run. Thanks.
The other mods on Nexus have either specific permission e.g. Activision, Konami, and Microsoft or the company has a blanket permission, CD Projeckt Red and GSC Game World. I have seen some mods use Youtube recordings as a way to get around this as it does not utilize actual files from the property, but if the files are ripped from the game and its publisher hasn't provided permission, Nexus will eventually take them down.
You say they will be taken down but I'm still using the Sword Cutless mod, the Alien Alarm replacer, the Robocop gun, and all the MGS mods that are on this site. I don't accept donations or claim any rights to my mods as specifically stated on the description of each page "do whatever you want with the mod" it's all a bit of fun so chill out dude.
The MGS mods have permission, its why I mentioned Konami. The Robocop gun is not from a game. The Sword Cutlass isn't a ripped asset but a replica. I don't know about the alien alarm. There was a version that was deleted https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/42959 so he may have recorded audio from Youtube for the new one, which is allowed. That mod author is banned though. So I don't know.
I am being chill, I was giving a friendly response. That's why I mentioned the Youtube thing. No offense was intended.
I'm digging your mods. I like your style. Since you're on an Alien Isolation kick right now might I suggest a music mod as well? I used to open the 2 hour Alien Isolation soundtrack on youtube then go build vault 88 full of dark hallways. Anyway thanks for your uploads they're great!
I looked into making a music mod but that will require far more time for me to do as it's not just a case of replacing audio. I would certainly like to do that at some point though but it may be a while.
