I Used some perk brews but there was no effect. any idea what might be happening? i checked my install and it looked right, I only have High Level Perks Installed to avoid issues. I used four brews in the same sitting and my perk chart never changed.
Due to a problem I don't know how to work around you have to drop the recipes and pick them up if you purchased them. I don't know how to fix that. I've tried.
Edit: I meant to say that might have been what happened.
I might have a mod, that perhaps removes the recipes for the SPECIAL Brews, since I headed to Zimonja, went southwards through the dirt road, then looked into the blue detached trailer and found nothing but ordinary loot. I also previously explored the motorway and every vehicle there and also found nothing. I eventually reached General Atomics Galleria and now I am just confused...
Yeah, I have https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3528, that expands the borders of the settlements. So I think, that I might just have to spawn myself a copy, or could you please do a patch for it?
Yeah, I noticed. I am rather patient, but this issue originated before the update, so I think, that the patch could fix it! ;)
EDIT: I spawned myself the recipe through console.
I can't find the recipe in the library. Not sure if its supposed to be obvious. can i get a description of where in the building, what its on? Maybe a picture. It may have been overwritten by something.
If you go through the main doors to the library itself by passing a speech check and using the mayor's password it will be on your left in a wooden crate next to the book return terminal.
Really excited for this mod, but trying to confirm I can find the magazines. Right now just finding the SPECIAL one will be good enough, but where exactly south of outpost Zimonja is it? I just hit the gunners that have a base on the busted freeway south of that outpost, but can't find it there and didn't see other raider bases. Can you give a screenshot of map location or do I just need to look harder?
EDIT: I can't believe how dumb I am to have missed it. I veered into the highway and then headed south. So I completely missed the very obvious spot. Thanks for the great mod!
Currently running 1.3. When Using LOOT I get the following message regarding htcwPerksBrews.esp: This plugin contains records that have FormIDs outside the valid range for an ESL plugin. Using this plugin will cause irreversible damage to your game saves.
hmm I'll see if i can fix and rerelease that shouldn't have happened. sorry.
Edit: Hopefully it's fixed now in 1.4 (still waiting on the CDN to upload the new file but it's in the pipeline). If not, it's some kind of mod conflict.
Brews 1.3 is out. It pops the perk brew menus a LOT faster, and it fixes some problems that were occurring due to bugs in Fallout.esm
<nerd>Internally I've changed the way it works some, adding a global instead of using multiple different script archive deployments. I also ESL flagged the Special Brews Crafting esp</nerd>
Small possible issue I noticed: htcwSpecialBrewCrafting.esp is not ESL-flagged the way the other plugins of this mod that I installed are. Was that a mistake, or was there some reason that one couldn't be made as an ESL-flagged ESP (or converted to one)?
Also, I have a few suggestions/requests: 1. Add a "cancel" or "nothing" button for the perk brews - if there are perks (or ranks of certain perks) I'm trying to avoid taking (like Cannibal, so I don't offend my non-supermutant companions, or the last rank of Nuclear Physicist, so I don't accidentally drop an explosive fusion core from power armor), but those are the only ones left for the given brew, having the option to not gain any perk ranks (even if the brew is still consumed) would be nice. 2. Show an informative message if the player has taken all eligible perks for a given brew (this will probably happen faster for the SPECIAL and Level locked brews) - I just tested this, and if I drink a brew at that point, it gives the "Pick a perk to improve" dialog, but instead of listing perks, it just has an "OK" button. That's not as bad as I feared, but something like "There are no Luck perks left" (or whichever attribute is involved) would be better. 3. Pick up changed perk names to show in the dialog - the mod description says this will "work with mods that add additional perk ranks to existing perks or otherwise modify existing perks". Horizon, for example, renames several perks, but does not supplant the rank-1 perks with mod-added perks (I think there are some mods that do this, but I don't have an example handy)
I had a post asking for help getting this mod to work. I have managed to get it to work with only the "craft only" option variant for Perks, and the SPECIAL option disabled entirely. Would be nice to be able to find these out in the world, but something is better then nothing!
Yes, I have it installed. Tried to change LO around and all that stuff. I imagine there is probably a conflict somewhere, I just havent been able to find it yet.
I think you might have a mod that is resetting level lists somewhere. I use script injection in my mod for compatibility with other mods, but I don't know what happens if a mod that *doesn't* use script injection to modify level lists comes *after* the Brews mod in the load order.
Your likely culprits are mods that change what items vendors (or loot boxes) have, their prices, their quantity or the odds of items appearing. Try to put them in the load order behind brews if possible - Brews won't interfere with them even if they interfere Brews. I'm not sure how much control you have over the load order with ESP files vs. ESL files though.
I have it nearly at the bottom of the list, mainly lighting mods after it, music and PRP. But yeah, not sure which ESL could be a culprit. I'll do some digging in xedit and see what I can find.
I wish I could help you more with that, but between my limited mod writing experience, and my lack of experience with your particular setup I am at a loss.
If you do find anything - maybe even if it's not *the* answer but could point me in the right direction then hit me up on here if you would. I'll attempt to update the mod to be more compatible if it's possible.

EDIT: For some reason, it started displaying the recipes, I don't know what changed.

Also, just FYI - this mod is currently broken with the update, since it relies on F4SE.

second: I choose the rare option, my Q is: does the luck has an effect here in regard of finding these brews?

#2 creates an issue wherein if i pop that message box, they can select the message as though it were a menu item.
I honestly don't know how to do #3 as I don't know how to dynamically build menus.
Edit: The bugs you mentioned were fixed in 1.3
Do you have FS4E installed? (technically only the perk brews need it. Special brews should work either way)
