I can't get the recruitment to stick. The dialog starts, I select a settlement, then there is a few seconds of the camera on the player character's face followed by the PC saying "I've changed my mind." I've tried several different settlements, moved the ESL up and down the load order, and I have several other of these recruitment mods, most of which work.

EDIT: I noticed on the Jule recruitment mod that Jule cannot be recruited inside a settlement. Since I have an Acadia settlement mod, I console commanded Jule away from Acadia and it worked, but that trick did not work with Miranda.

Did you try the ESP version? If that works, then it's a mod conflict. ESL files load before ESPs regardless of load order. (Such dialogue can happen if another mod overrides Miranda's record).

To recruit her manually, open the console and type "SetStage RecruitMiranda 5". Send her to a settlement and then type "SetStage RecruitMiranda 10".

Had the same problem again, was using esp, got past it with the console as per yr instruction,  but I notice the caravan option isn't there, and it looks like i can't add it manually via console. I don't need it but I thought I should mention it.

Agreed, some AIO's, especially for the files unlikely to get major updates would be greatly appreciated

I came here to ask the same thing...I was wondering if it is possible or would the game puke all over itself.

Any chance at Edward Deegan? Man hires you and ends up without a job later on..

I understand that many users would like an AiO version.. but no, I’m not planning to make one.
Adding and uploading mods would be much slower because I’d also have to update the AiO as well. If you use the .esl, you don’t have to worry about the plugin limit.

I don't worry about mod limit am far from it, like 200+ from the limit I just thought people would like and I know I would like it that I don't have to download a lot of mods, they are good but there is lot of them but your mods your word is final

other thing, can we get Eleanor and the girl with robot? pleas

I repack the BSA under the 1st recruitment mod's name so there all together and place the esl's in the same folder with in MO2 because I near the BSA limit and it works well and very easy to do would recommend mod users to learn how as it makes the game a lot smother.

@BlazeStryker From what I've heard, the absolute upper limit of BA2's one can have is 510 (255 plugin (ESP/ESM) limit loading 2 each, but that doesn't account for the base game+ DLC BSA counts so you have to subtract those, rounding to evens IIRC). However, If a mod loads one archive it counts as two (basically you can have 255 mods loading archives AFAIK, I'm not an expert FO4 wise this is just what I've read).

That said, I've heard people hitting BA2 crashes as low as 430 (although I'd say 450 ish is closer to average, think that example might have had a bad BA2). Assets from multiple mods can be combined to cut down on used BSA's (as long as the BSA is being loaded), as mentioned by chubjub (which until recently I didn't actually know).

Note: This is just from helping people with LO's and skimming random info online (of which there isn't too much tbh, in other words YMMV).

Man you have so many of these, and I have nearly everyone of them, you might as well just do a single esp/esl file and combine them all lol; that aside I enjoy this. It adds more tier 4 vendors and more life to my settlements which is always a plus

Before I install any of these recruitment mods, I was (somewhat foolishly perhaps) wondering: what if some of these characters could also be companions? I mean, Skyrim has lots of followers (quite a wide variety to choose from) and Fallout 4 has a rather limited selection (albeit more fleshed out). There wouldn't need to be affinity or a perk, or anything like that; e.g. like Ada and Dogmeat. If we regard the existing companions as "top-tier" then the game would benefit from some low-to-mid-tier companions. I realise dialogue could be an issue, but NPCs don't need to comment on absolutely everything. And honestly, characters like Miranda and Kasumi do seem like they'd be up for travelling the Commonwealth at the Sole Survivor's side.

In the immortal words of Top Gear: "How hard can it be?"

It's not hard but there were recorded only a very few dialogues for these NPCs (excluding Kasumi). Unfortunately they can't be turned into good companions.

No worries, I'll install some of these after my current can't-be-bothered-with-settlements character runs out of non-settlement things to do.

      Thanks for the prompt reply.

I agree I always thought it was a big miss for Bethesda, to not allow you to have Miranda as a companion at least.  Her dialog as you stated definitely suggest she would be up for it.

I tell her I can recruit her, get the option for the settlement, then the character says they have changed their mind. Is that normal? I can not complete the quest?

This one doesn't work for me. I don't get any new dialogue from her, more than she's looking forward to seeing the Commonwealth again some day. Seems more like vanilla lines; but I don't get any recruit options. I'll bet this was made with the latest version of CK. Mods made in the update of CK won't run on older games. In the same way, my game won't load esl files. I looked at this one, and it wasn't "flagged". Cool idea for Miranda, though. Wish it worked for me. I have one for Tina De Luca from vault 81 where you don't have to kill her brother to recruit her. It's a pretty old mod.
