Hi, this is just a follow up to what I said about bloom before. I logged in and called up a rad storm (heavy bloom) and paused time and camera on an instant where the parts of the hair flared with light. Then, without changing the weather or angle or time I removed bloom and took a photo to show that the flare is related to bloom. One can temporarily remove bloom either with ENB if they use it (I don't use ENB) or with something like the Color Changers mod or by switching to a different weather that has less bloom.
The screen shot I took showing this:

I have spent hours researching this issue and don't think it can be fixed by altering the material file. It seems to be related to the texture and/or mesh, but I don't know what part of it, and I don't think it can be fixed without a ground up remake, and even that might not do it.
p.s. I also took a third screen shot where I removed the bloom without adding Depth of Field, and it also removed the light flares. The issue is truly linked to bloom. But I chose this image for the example simply because I think it's prettier :)
*Follow Up* I mentioned the following in the FRC hair mod as well after my testing I did for the hairstyle(s) in that mod which had the same issue. If you look closely at the side by side of with bloom and without, you can actually see what's flaring with light. There are tiny deformities in the mesh which are either missing a texture or are stretched badly. This is why I don't think it can be fixed without redoing the hair from the ground up. I don't know if a mesh/texture can be patched. I imagine somebody very skilled at Blender or its equivalent can do that, but I personally don't know how to do it. Removing bloom in the graphics gets around the issue, but a material file change won't fix it, and the changing the texture files won't fix it. As far as I can tell, it's the mesh faces itself, as I said either missing a texture or too stretched.
I guess if it's a matter of too stretched upscaling the texture could help, but I don't think it would and is a lot of work for little chance of correction.
You can see it yourself in game if you remove the bloom (or change the angle from which you're looking) and zoom way in to look at the mesh portions which are flaring.
I don't know how to fix it. I think very few people have that kind of knowledge. But personally I don't think this detracts from these hairstyles at all. They're very beautiful, and the light flares are only in certain weathers and lighting conditions which isn't a big deal :)
I followed up on what was said about Bloom. I searched my game file and the only mention was in my Reshade. I disabled that but still have spots. Gonna check my settings in ENB.
Keep in mind the game engine itself will add bloom depending on the weather, time of day and other image space or image space adapter settings. You won't see it as a separate setting. It's built into the game.
I artificially remove bloom with my "Karna's Color Changers" mod selectively by equipping items that do that (and I have other items that emphasize bloom as well). I believe ENBs can also strip bloom, but as I don't use ENBs I'm no expert in those. But I do know about the game engine from my testing and modding of image space adapters and image space :)
I've been testing with all five hairstyles using version 1.2 in a rad storm and even tested ramping the bloom way up, and the hair is not flaring with light from any angle. As far as I can tell, you actually fixed the issue. I'm very impressed! Well done! :)
I'll come back with some photos from the test in a bit, but I wanted to give you an update right away :)
Okay, here are a few images from the testing. I activated a rad storm and tried all five hair styles from different angles, and for some of the tests I even magnified bloom. I deliberately wore an outfit which would flare with light to confirm when the hair would flare if it had a problem. The hairs all behaved perfectly. I also tried brown, white, blond and black hair just in case.
Found this with another hair mod having same issue. Maybe someone more learned can use it. Update 5: Thanks to Indur32 for the suggestion on the fix for the white spots/squares that some have experienced, it could have something to do with the NiAlphaProperty.
Also, any reason HAIR #5 does not have NiAalphaProperty in its meshes file? All the others show it on first line?
Loaded the new version. Still has spots. I am open to ideas? My other hair mods have no such issue, so it has to be something minor in your files. I use ENB also, and read about bloom being the problem? Not really sure.
You might not be able to do anything about it, schlafenszeit. A couple of the hairstyles in FRC also have the issue, and I don't think it's fixable. Yes, these hairs in this mod get light flares in some weathers and some indoor lights, but I don't think it's fixable without some kind of ground up texture or mesh change.
What I do to fix the issue, be it with these hairs or the two hairstyles in FRC which have the issue, is either change the weather or temporarily eliminate bloom. Some of my Karna's Color Changers settings let me remove bloom by equipping an item, and they later then let me restore the bloom by removing it. I don't use ENBs, but people who use ENBs can likewise temporarily remove bloom without using Color Changers.
Anyway, in short, the issue is somehow related to bloom, and I am unaware of any way to fix it on hairstyles which have this.

Love these hairstyles
Would it be possible to make it, so that the hair does not clip through headgear?
all i did was convert these
Thanks for the answer.

from what you've described it might have to do with both the bloom and the UV maps in the mesh, which are both waaay out of my depth

thank you again for helping <3
i tried just about everything i could think of. it seems to work fine with "Dawn ENB"
