if you're playing with "precipitation only" : i think i fond a fix for some rains that aren't radioactive (spring rain, coudy rain, very cloudy rain, misty rain), i managed to solve it with fo4edit by removing the "cloudy" tags in nacx.
edit : me stoopid, you must do it in brandy's patch because it gets overwritten if you do it only in nacx
I'm running into a weird issue because of NAC X Every time i put on a gas mask the screen darkens a lot (to the point i can't see anything during the night even with flashlight on, while it's not much noticeable during the day) I thought this was an issue with gas masks of the wasteland but after uninstalling it i noticed that it does the same with every mask from the base game, but it does not happen with modded masks (i tried to use a mask from metro gas masks) It does not happen with darker nights option disabled but i'd like to keep it on Adaptation settings and functional sunglasses setting does not change anything (once i have the mask on the screen is darkened in 3rd person too) Does anyone know what should i check in NAC X esp with FO4 edit to solve this?
EDIT: It's caused by Damn Apocalypse radiation module The mod page does not mention any modification to the gas masks visuals or overlays but there is an option to disable equipment visuals in the holotape for the radiation module
I dont think weathers with 2 flags are counting for the precipitation radiation mode. The weathers that have cloudy and rainy flags dont give the radiation, the fog ones I think are the ones you set to cloudy and rainy
You are right on the money; it appears to all be down to the "Cloudy" tag as opposed to it being the combo of cloudy and rainy. I tested this by taking two garunteed radioactive weathers: polluted and sulfer storm which are both rainy and snow tagged. I added cloudy to sulfer and replaced rainy with cloudy and it caused them both to be neutralized and safe. Rainy tagged weathers will work with precipitation mode, snow tagged weathers will work with radioactive only setting, but adding cloudy to any weather makes it non radioactive regardless of other existing tags on that weather. I will make a patch.
Do you know anything about making the ice/frost on the gasmasks work when using NAC with Nuclear Winter and Gas Masks of the Wasteland? I would legit kill for a patch that makes it all work properly.
I'm using the non-legacy/X version of NAC and it seems that the snow weathers are recognized as rain. NPCs comment about it raining during a snowstorm and the only VFX that show up on my gas mask overlay are water droplets instead of frost.
Or is this all fixed now and I should just update to NAC X, this patch, as well as the Nuclear Winter NAC X patch?
Thank you for this, works like a charm. I love Gas Masks and NAC-X, and wouldn't play the game without both in my load order, but this issue sure was breaking immersion, so cheers for fixing it. I'm enjoying your YouTube channel as well, keep it up!

Nevermind I figured it out, but thanks for mentioning it!
