Every playthrough or semi playthrough, they stop spawning after a while, they are there in the beginning and until I build a lot of settlements, then they are just gone. Can't figure out why they just stop showing up.
I came here to say this same thing! While I've used this on a full playthrough already, I recently restarted and found it jarring to see one circling overhead right when you exit Vault 111, when the Minutemen are still basically on their last legs. I think a quest-tied trigger as suggested would be an ideal approach to keep that from happening.
I have a few pilots that I made settlers, I guess they got shot down. Anyhow I like the mod, adds some realism, because I use the personal vb and never see any others. I don't know what happened to the Bos guys, this playthrough. The last playthrough I was using the little bird mod, using to fly around settlements and they killed all the guys at the airport and the airship was gone. I didn't have any of your Verti birds around until my settlements got bigger. I was wondering where they were , but they came later. Seemed realistic to me. Anyhow, it's a good mod. Good thinking.
Thanks a lot for the work put in this mod! Really the mod I could use all the time as I play MM most of the playthroughs, only thing is it requires too many concessions. I could go with the BoS logos on the birds patrolling, or the gunmen on the ground not even idle-animated, or the lack of functionalities, but all of those combined I can't say I enjoy it enough.
The concept is perfect for the game, it fits the lore and it's a smart idea that the devs themselves could/should have thought of, but a little bit more of functionality would make it just perfect.
While I enjoy the premise of this mod I would like to humbly request if a version of this mod that is compatible with the mod "Vertibird Faction Paint Schemes" by RoastinGhost is possible.
When these mods are run together the patrols from this mod end up having the paint job of the Brotherhood of Steel. If compatibility with this mod is an issue perhaps a specific texture folder for this mod's vertibirds would be possible? I tried to see if I could do it myself but sadly my skills with creation kit are nonexistent and I kept getting reference errors in xedit.
Yes, I have the NCR-Minuteman overhaul mod, and they have their own vertibird paint, but the mod doesn't change the paint of these patrolling vertibirds.
This could be because they made a copy of the vertibird so as to avoid messing with the vanilla one, in which cases vertibird changes from other mods would have to be patched to add to the copies. Just guessing, as I've not gotten around to gutting this for my LO just yet, but seems the most likely case.

I've got about 3-4 random Pilots that stand around in the Castle / Abernathy with no way to get rid of them.
