Hi, thank you for downloading and endorsing my mods!
The Frost Development team made two guides for a proper modern Frost Setup, and the More Starting Locations/More Doors mod is an integral part of it. You can find the guides here:
If you are really interested in playing FROST, you should use one of those guides to make a proper Frost Setup. This mod only works if you have the More Starting Locations mod, it is a hard requirement. The reason for this is that the player can find a Survival Kit at every starting location in Frost.
You can also join our Community on Discord if you have further questions:
use the kit item, close pipboy, pov auto switched to 1st person, character freezes for about 5 secs, but nothing happens.
edit: I figured out it is "scroll doesn't change pov" make this conflict. I made a patch to delete the forcechangeto3rdperson keyword from the workstations in this mod. then I can enter craft menu after using the kit in 1st person(but not 3rd person, the problem consists).
Yeah such conflicts are to be expected. It might be possible to make some scripted workarounds, but I think it probably isn't worth the effort. Thank you for reporting this c:
Thank god this kit still allows me to craft caltrops without adhesives. Please don't nerf the recipe as you already did in the FROST Unofficial Updates 0.9 BETA... Please don't... Just ignore this post... Please...
Come one, caltrops are really good against enemies that charge at you, they shouldn't just cost 5 steel. I also recommend to use the Far Harbor Trap Overhaul to make the traps stronger. Taking those two things into account, they should cost more then just 5 steel. Adhesive is rare, but still a common resource that can be found at a lot of locations.
You have a point, increasing the cost of production is a way to counter the usefulness of caltrops especially with FHTO. I finally let go and made myself a fix in xedit.
A new "improvised caltrops" recipe would be highly appreciated. Just as one can make a caltrop out of a piece of metal by cutting and bending it, the Survival Kit will allow players to make crude version of caltrops status quo, without adhesives I hope. - Improvised caltrops are too blunt to damage light-weighted beings such as mutcrabs and radroaches. - Difficulty of implementation aside, humanoids wearing military boots should gain immunity to improvised caltrops. - No slow effect.
Can you put a link to "Unofficial Updates for FROST" (or rather "FROST Unofficial Updates" : https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/48839) in the "Requirements' tab of the front page please, if it is required to work ? Thank you
Yes it is required, I will update the information. It seemed that Nexus didn't put it to the requirements page, but I definitely added it when I created this modpage. Nexus is sometimes a little buggy, thank you for mentioning this!
