12/9/15 I have added a Daily Respawn and a No Respawn version. Technically the No Respawn version sets the timer to 999,999,999 in game hours, but I seriously doubt that any of you will reach this. It comes out to like 41.66 million game days. As always, if you have a special timing in mind, let me know.
12/10/15 I added an hourly version as well. I tried to do an instant version but it behaved strangely.
12/11/15 I have added a Slower Respawn version. This will increase the vanilla 7 day timer for non cleared cells to 14 days. Similarly, the vanilla 20 day timer for [CLEARED] cells has been increased to 40 days.
8/18/2016 I apologize for taking awhile to answer you guy's questions and concerns. I have been away from FO4 and modding in general for some time now. A common question seems to be regarding the survival update. In theory, it should work, but if not, then I will look into it myself soon. I will be starting up modding again very shortly.
Very appreciated : for both immersion and as a "completionist", I really enjoy the game more knowing that what I do has a lasting impact and feeling that I am completing the game. Some respawns are really not immersive.
I have the no respawn version it seems to work until i get BOS radiant clear the commonwealth or the protect brotherhood scribe for college square GNN and Dunwich Borers and Corvega Assembly plant. These locations respawn instantly when quest given even if completely cleared of optional spawns and optional sections like GNN basement. It seems to be UFO4P over writing this mod. Another one that will respawn if getting Begnine Intervention from Cait if you've already cleared Vault 95 even just before getting the quest it will respawn or if you receive the quest from Cait while in a cleared vault 95 cell then complete her quest it will respawn on exit. creating a situation where you need clear the cell 3 times in 1 game day..
Does this work on the entire world or just specific locations? I'm trying to turn a specific location, Vault 75, into a base, but I don't know how to disable the enemies from spawning. A search is how I found your mod. But I wasn't sure if your mod is for enemies in the entire game or if it works with specific locations. Any help would be awesome.
It should still work, but I no longer use this in my load order so I cannot say for certain. All this mod does is edit iHoursToRespawnCell and iHoursToRespawnCellCleared to some unreachable figure. At this point I'd say you have a few options;
(1) Use FO4Edit to check for compatibility issues. Some mods make unexpected changes. You could alternatively load this mod last in your load order.
(2) Game Configuration Menu may allow you to change this yourself, but I do not know for sure.
(3) You could create a batch file to run two console commands when you launch the game. That's what I do in my game now. In your Fallout4custom.ini, you can use sStartingConsoleCommand= bat Respawnfix. Then, create a .txt file with whatever name you used, and paste the two commands into it.
Oh thank you, I have been meaning to recomment. It was Game Configuration Menu but it only allowed the spawn timer to go up to 1000 = 42 days. When I uninstalled it, it all started working. I'll try making that bat with Game Configuration Menu and see what happens =D thanks for the reply
Probably a dumb question, but I haven't had a PC for very long and I'm still not familiar with a lot of it's inner workings - how do I actually install it? I've downloaded the No Respawn version, and it comes as a rar file. I've put in in Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data, where all my other mods are stored. Do I keep it as a rar file or do I convert it to an esp, since almost all of my other mods are esp files?
Sorry for taking so long to reply. I keep thinking discussion of my old mods is dead, and then I find more comments when I check back for fun. Anyway, it's been a hot second for me, but I believe you just extract it into your data folder. If you're unsure or you plan on installing more than a couple of mods, I'd recommend using a mod manager. Vortex is a decent option for instance, but that's personal preference. The only thing I ever install manually is an ENB
Thanks for the compliment, though I did just go 2 years after those 2 years without checking for comments till now lmao. I thought it was dead, but I guess not.
Hey, thank you for this sweet mod.In vanila fallout enemies kept respawning so quick it kept ruin my game experience. Your slower enemies respawn brought some immersion. I'd like to also suggest one possible thing. How about very slow enemies respawn mod increasing lenght of respawn time 5 times of Vanila? Thank you in advance.
Sorry for the ludicrously late reply. I'd thought discussion of this mod was dead, but hey better late than never right?
Your request is absolutely doable, and a few years ago when I actually remembered how to do it I could've made that mod in a jiffy. I could still go ahead and make that for you, but I realize that you asked this a year ago so do you still have interest in it? I'll see what I can do if so.
Hey Yuiop, I had an idea about how to add some functionality to respawn mods but I am about as competent with coding and such as a s#*! smeared gibbon so I figured I would run it past someone with experience. is there any way to futz with the level of respawns so that lower level enemies respawn first and it takes longer for higher level enemies to spawn? that way you can get both the fun of stomping some really easy guys but you can also wait to let the high level guys spawn up to what would normally spawn for your level?
is this even possible or is it just the fantasy of a person who doesn't know how to mod things?

Is it possible? Most likely, yes. That said, I don't know how to do that. Back when I made this, I was just learning how to use the tool. With today's tools I am fairly sure that this is possible, but you'd need to hope for someone more experienced to handle it as I haven't touched modding for a couple years.
How about longer? Like a few months or a year in general? If standalone settlers, salvage traders, animals or distinct factions replace the former faction in the area, that would be ground breaking. If the setting was completely changed and new quests were presented. And if other factions could threaten to occupy. I mean that would be cool. if somehow in attacks, settlements could be lost. Heck losing the Castle again, why not?
Anyways, if the timer was way longer I would be satisfied with that. I play a character who sleeps everyday, so in game time flies by really fast. If the time could be increased to like "x" (any) amount, that would be a blessing. I'm pretty apprehensive of doing this because I'm not sure how the game would behave anyways.
