Been playing with this radio station for a little bit so far and I love it. While it doesn't feel very "Bethesda-era-Fallout," the music and DJing is really good. Also, I looked at the track list, and OH s#*! WORLD/INFERNO FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY. Double plus endorsement.
I want to like this, I really do... But it breaks my immersion so badly cause a lot of the songs really don't sound like Pre-War songs at all. It doesn't feel like I'm listening to a radio in the game, but more like I'm playing Fallout with a YT video playing in the background. I think I'm gonna stick with Old World Radio for now
I have to agree. As a HUGE OTR fan before fallout 4, this mod doesn't fit with the 40s and 50s vibe I LOVE. Great mod truly. Just musically not accurate, so I'll be removing it - with endorsement given, for the sheer hard work!
Tbf, I thought the same at first too, but after thinking about it, the War was in 2077, so that's 120+ years of possible musical evolution, and even if we assume almost complete stagnation, there must've been at least a little bit of novelty here and there. The stagnant world Bethesda loves to make is more immersion breaking than the more modern tracks in this radio, honestly.
Big D & the Kids Table = automatic critical success.
Boston as a city has a really vibrant history with punk, hardcore, indie, and ska, and a FO4 radio station that acknowledges that history seems pretty lore-friendly.
I was just coming here to comment on "I, I, I" by Big D and the Kids Table, song has been stuck in my head for days (a good thing), and I see this top post, so I'm not the only one obviously!
The DJ is exellent, I probably like him better than any other DJ of the over 10GB of radio stations I have for FO4, he's very immersive for the game (Synths don't exist! ... lol).
For the mod, I did get the silence bug at one time, so be sure to download the Refueled Patch linked by Zombiephones below.
I personally hate all the noxious americana and the music on this station is amazing stuff I'd never heard before. Dozer is a perfect addition to the world.
Needs this, as far as I can tell - with it it's been perfectly stable:
Jetfuel Radio - The Refueled Patch - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/75200?tab=description
also maybe an option for lower quality sound files so it sounds more like a radio on my wrist and less like im playing music in the background and playing fallout at the same time

MEGATON WAS AN INSIDE JOB
The earliest example of rap, but eh, I do kinda agree with you though.
