About this mod

Changes Nick Valentine's default companion weapon from a pipe revolver to That Gun by DOOMBASED.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Changes Nick Valentine's default companion weapon from a pipe revolver to M2019 PKD Detective Special, aka "That Gun" instead, by request. Also adds a new .44 version of the magical never-ending companion ammo, as well as a level list to it, so Nick's new .44 revolver can actually fire .44 ammo.

You will need one of either the standalone weapon version by DOOMBased or DOOMBased Weapons Merged, as there are versions that require one or the other. I don't use Weaponsmith so I can't offer a version of that, and I feel DOOM's version is better than other versions of "That Gun" available on Nexus.

Compatible with all Nick Valentine overhauls such as Valentine Reborn or ones that turn him human etc, except ones that alter his companion weapon specifically, as only the weapon itself has been altered, not Nick's NPC record.

On new games, Nick will spawn with the weapon and ammo for it by default. On existing games, his pipe revolver will change to the new one, but he won't get the ammo for it, to get it, open console, click Nick, and then type

help 44 4 ammo
It's going to be the ammo type that starts with FE or FF due to ESL, not the vanilla one that starts with 00. Afterwards type

additem [what you got above for the ammo refID] 1

And Nick should have both the gun and infinite ammo for it.

As an alternative you can instead do "resetinventory" console command on Nick, then "disable" and "enable" which will reset his inventory to what he should have at start, ammo included (the disable/enable is to prevent him from being just a floating head and hands as he first ends up with that command). Make sure to remove anything you may have put in his inventory before you do so however.

ESL-tagged ESP plugin, so won't count towards your regular plugin load order count.
