Now included is an RNG mode, its basically the same but the safety net is removed. There's now no minimum amount of caps, only a maximum in the RNG mode version.
To update, delete the old one then run the fomod installer or place the version you want in your data folder.
for anyone searching for an answer why there is no sound when picking up caps: enable "allow bottlecap pickup sound" in MCM of the mod Immersive Animation Framework.
That has seemed to be my experience. I'm suddenly getting bullets, as well as anywhere from 500 to 1,500 caps on that Fortune Finder drop combined with Fortune Finder 4 Fix, which is an awesome quality-of-life change after thousands of hours in vanilla gameplay!
Your redux version doesn't seem to be working for me. Specifically the ammo being found in the containers when using the scrounger perk. I've got level 2 scrounger and from level 20-24 I've yet to find any ammo at all in the cap containers. Disappointing.
Edit: I finally got a .45 round in one of my cap stashes. 1 bullet at level 31. That's not really as advertised. Is this mod really working?
Thank you for the recent update for version 3.0 I noticed it by chance, the mod page version still shows version 2.0, thus Vortex never notified about the update. So you might want to update that as well.
I read that the sound should be fixed with version 3, along with rebalancing. Since we can not spawn Caps Stashes I can't test nor confirm this until I come across one (will update), but I can report that the individual bottlecaps still make no sound when picked up.
Also, would it be possible to have an optional download where the sound is fixed but the values are not rebalanced? Thank you for your consideration.
I like this mod. It always bothered me that cap stashes were so useless. By mid-game, there's not much point picking them up just so you can get 20 caps. You can barely buy a drink for that in the game. And when you're settlement building mid-game, the extra income really helps to buy supplies.
I don't care if there is a sound associated with the act of picking up the caps. I don't get any sound effects in real life either when I pick up my wallet.
Those are not wallets, they're cap stashes alright?! And the caps inside jiggle when you pick'em up...
It's a therapeutic sound which tells that you're a bit more richer with the new currency of post apocalyptic world! The sound which tells a story, a story of the person who owned that stash, all the memories, all the caps that they've collected one by one, hid them for a rainy day, but perhaps got eaten by a deathclaw before they had a chance to spend them on a new shoe, a cooked radroach meal or perhaps an upgrade for their weapon to survive in the commonwealth... And here you are, the new owner of their hidden treasure... Ready to redistribute that wealth back to the commonwealth, like a fertile soil giving you back mutfruits... That sound is the echo of the smiling children who's stomachs are full... That sound is the reflection of the progress...The common good... Sound of the new world
Why don't you play the game muted, if sounds don't mean that much to you!?
I believe there's no pick up sound effect attached for the stashes. I only found one since I installed the mod, got 1011 caps which is nice but there no sound. Will update as I encounter more.
UPDATE: I can confirm that there's no pickup sound set. Further more, not only cap stashes but individual caps are silent as well. I looked at the mod with FO4Edit and it only seems to overwrite the "loot_capsStash_tin" from the game. I couldn't see any sound related option being cleared or overwritten so I assume it has to do with the CapsStash.pex script file.
It seems like a minor thing but once you know that the stashes and caps do not produce pickup sounds (which they originally do) it becomes a bit irritating. I'm hoping for fix or a patch for this issue. Otherwise the mod works perfectly.
I am using "Immersive Animations Framework" are you suggesting that's the cause? Because I don't remember having any issue prior to installing this mod.
Thank you very much for this (much needed) great idea! It‘s little gems like this, which can make a way better game experience. I‘ve never paid much attention to those cap stashes - now I‘m excited about every stash I can find, so heartily endorsed and also kudos to you for making esl versions! *much appreciated*
On a side note: The normal esl file doesn‘t seem to work with version 2.0. I‘m using version 1.1, which works like a charm.
Wow, I never gave much thought to caps stash amounts before, but this mod does make you realize how miniscule they are late-game (or even mid-game). Besides, you'd think a true "stash" would have more anyway.

To update just remove the old mod and install the new one.
Sorry about that, I've never uploaded a mod with a script before and didn't realize they weren't included in the esp file.
Thanks for posting the bugs
Happy looting
