Honestly, at first I liked this Vault-Tec Rep guy, I even felt sorry for him that he was refused to enter the Vault, but then I realized something that changed my mind about him.
Have you ever noticed how friendly he is to you when he first meets you in Sanctuary? He's like "I'm here today to tell you that because of your family's service to our country, you have been pre-selected for entrance into the local Vault", acting like he was eagerly trying to help you because he appreciates your service to the country and yet moments later he's like "Are they letting YOU in? And not ME? Someone's going to hear about this!"...
I was like yeah, your appreciation of my service was totally legit. It's a typical situation in which people lose the mask and show their real face. Sure, he may be upset, but it's not the player's fault that they were not allowed to enter the Vault, so when he acted like that, it was clear he was really just a salesman without empathy, trying to please his employer, he wasn't someone who would really mean to honor your service to the country, let alone care about your well being...
And after all those long years, he's still an assh*le. Sure, he eventually drops his attitude, but it's once again clear that he's doing it to his own benefit, not because he would really like you.
bro dont know why u went out of ur way to write an essay on why u dont like a character that people obviously like made a mod for. kind of weird but go off i guess lmao
Not the mod author, but I'm assuming Clark is from Clark Kent (Superman) and Rogers is from Steve Rogers (Captain America). Two popular comic book characters. Clark Kent is also the namesake of the NPC Kent who starts the Silver Shroud quests. I would say Tony Stark (Iron Man) is the more iconic Marvel character (with Superman being the obvious iconic DC Comics character), but "Clark Stark" just doesn't sound good.
Rogers could also be a reference to Fred Rogers of "Mr. Rogers Neighborhood," as in, "won't you be my neighbor," because you're sending him to Sanctuary where you (used to and may still presently) live. Also he's found in Goodneighbor (after the intro).
thank u for ur thots @DarkRealityX it was a fun read, but honestly none of us here at the frankenweenietrio are marvel or dc fans and have never watched mr rogers (tho we remembered half way thru posting the mod that mr. rogers was a thing haha) we genuinely went "he looks like a doofy guy whos name starts with a c/k sound" and went thru sum names until we came up with clark, for a while, i wanted to spell it klark but it got voted out to be with a c (rip). for his last name we just went with the first name that came to mind. And thus, Clark Rogers was christened with his new name.
akctaully I recomended clark to that part of the comglomerate cuz I thought of clark kent, and Rogers did come from Mr. Rogers, didnt think about the will you be my neighbor song though, that would be clever if I did. Frankenweenie out.
For those who make Vault into settlements and player homes, I suggest making Clark settlement leader. Considering he got chased away from 111 at gunpoint (a damned minigun wielded by a trooper in power armor no less) the man is centuries overdue for it!
this seems like a fun sudgestion ! personally we think hed be bitter towards vault tec, but depending on how u characterize him, him leading a settlement at vault tec might feel like a way for him to stick it to them after all of 210 years !
