I actually PREFER, adding clean "pre-war" texture mods where I can. Prewar cars and asphalts and paints...
I know that its a post nuclear apocalypse, but I'm not crazy about all teh decorative ruin and mess and clutter. I can actually see that outside my own house. I'm looking for escapism.
But I justify this IN GAME WORLD, that many things are MADE OUT OF PLASTICS.
Can you please tell me where can I get a replacement for the broken in game cars ? I was looking to replace them with non functional pre war ones or even better, modern real world ones if possible.
I could be wrong but I believe if you change/replace items around the world (outside of your settlement areas), when the game restarts and rebuilds an area, it will respawn the original items for that area. For example, if you scrap a burnt out car and put a clean car in its place, next time the game starts that old car will spawn there again by the game engine. I've tried something like this before but next day found the game had rebuilt what I changed so I stopped doing it.
Since no post from the mod author, I'll try to explain what this mod does.
I haven't tried it yet, so please gulp it down with a spoonful of salt.
- It changes the textures of most if not all buildings around commonwealth to make them squeaky clean and shiny new. - These are all texture files. No esp / esl / esm so, no plugin. No nifs, so no breaking precombines. No bgsm so no buildings looking weird. - These are texture replacers, so not compatible with stuff like shack retextures or wall retextures available on nexus. - Install with a mod manager - loose files, so may not work without ini edits (refer to your own self, I forgot how to do it). - Too many loose files, so textures may become blurry in game. - Free mod, risk on you. - Absolutely Lore F**king unfriendly. - White textures may become very bright with vanilla ENB (personal experience from other mods). - I love it how it looks in the screenshots, so I am willing to take a bullet for the community.
Yes, I tried it. What I stated above, all are true (except the bright texture part).
You will need to find a way to get rid of all the trash to make our game look clean(er). I prefer "Winter Redone". Makes your gamy wintery. You can get something like spring cleaning or etc.
Thanks buddy for the extra information on this mod, it did help. Although as mentioned this looks like it will clash with any texture replacers including any HD re-texturing mods so it's decision time, which is more important? Will definitely give it a try and see how it plays with other mods, and how much difference it will actually make to the game's overall appearance.
I actually prefer this one, though it turns most of my textures blurry. I have a super entry level PC, besides I like clean things. Tried to turn my game into Farcry 5. :v

you get a better and more green Commonwealth with replace textures and you can see many destroyed cars at vanilla game, turn to new.
