I dont think this is working for me sadly, have it installed but raiders and other factions still spawning with MF weapons that get me one shotted every time. (Yes I do have the damage turned down from the MF Mod Menu, still get one shot)
lowkey agree with this. The only problem i have with MF is that the guns seem to be 10x more common than any other weapon mod. i seem to find lmgs and shotguns in every crate, footlocker and cash register
can someone please un f*** my brain when it comes to modern firearms I'm getting weapon damage in the millions literally and all the npc's have modern guns. will this mod take away the those guns from the NPC's and what can I do about those damage points. the current weapon mods I'm using are combine arms, miriah armory, doombase weapon merge, and modern fire arms. somebody please point me in the right direction.
EDIT: never mind I got my answer from the modern fire arms link that is posted on the description page Thanks for those links you don't know how much it means to me I'm endorsing you bro
Between the option of including a load of guns which don't fit the setting, or allowing the player to pick and choose weaponry that does - I'll take the later. Modern Firearms does include a few weapons which could fit the Fallout universe, however I disliked seeing so many tacticool guns appearing.
It would be nice to see a patch which only includes "period" correct guns from that mod in levelled lists. FAL, some AKs, etc. Which may defeat the point of a "Modern Firearms" mod, but that particular mod includes guns that fit the Fallout universe which aren't available elsewhere, so its a bit of a tradeoff.
Period Correct depends on how you define the period. That is going to vary greatly from user to user. Ex. Desert Eagle was a staple in the Fallout universe from the outset - and this was a weapon that essentially defied normal thinking even in an "incorrect period" i.e. when it was created in the mid 1980's. ------------ To me, it's the end of the Cold War - i.e. 1990. Anything in design phase or production prior to that is fair game - i.e. the FN P90 (Fallout 2). In development around the same time the Deagle came on board - but wasn't put into production until 1990.
The beauty of a post-apocalyptic world is the restrictions from government on weapons are removed. The beauty of a post-apocalyptic world is the "practicality" restrictions from "professionals" opinions (i.e. succumbing to social norms) are removed. The MAC-10 made no practical sense (i.e. the comment it wasn't any good unless you were fighting in a phone booth) - but makes perfect sense when you are surrounded by 10 feral ghouls - something "society" couldn't even contemplate as a thing back before the bombs fell.
