its doesnt need optics its not an "assult"(god hate that term)rifle, DMR or a sniper rifle its a Vietnam era SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon) its meant to set up and spray to suppress the bad guys
Yet LMGs even in real life use a 4x optic. The M145 MGO, or literally "Machine Gun Optic" is a thing real armies use on their LMGs. Suuuure, its not an assault rifle, but, being able to actually see your target does help. Irons kinda suck in many games and while the M60 has pretty decent ones, optics are just more fun in a game sense. Id love to slap an Elcan SpectreDR 1x/4x on my all my guns in every game.
Germany called the first rifle it manufactured with an intermediate caliber and select fire capability the sturmgewehr (storm/assault rifle) because its purpose was to enable its carrier to storm/assault enemy positions. This rifle style was effective and was soon replicated by the Kalashnikov and other rifles, and not long after the term assault rifle has caught on to distinguish them from submachineguns and battle rifles.
Are you confusing the specifically defined term assault rifle with the nebulous and politically loaded term assault weapon?
I read the older posts complaning about the damage is "too high" or whatever. Not sure if many are aware, but if you play on very hard or survival then your weapon damage gets cut in half (Bethesda logic) which clearly is a severe disadvantage, since npcs still deal full weapon damage. In my opinion, high damage/bullet is far more logical than dealing less damage than a mirelurk hatchling. More damage = less spent ammo in a fire fight.
Really neat mod and it may be simple but really fun to embrace your inner Rambo. Endorsed!
i love this gun just one little flaw im finding with the gun the m60 fully stock build does 41 damage that feels a little too high for a belt fed mg that uses .308 (7.62x51mm NATO)
