About this mod

The mod gives you chance to call a Vertibird even if the game decides it cannot land anywhere nearby, and if you decide (or are forced ) to cancel landing, you get the grenade back.

So, I've just started a new playthrough as a BoS soldier, and one thing that became obvious was that the Vertibird Signal Grenades suck - I've scouted an entire bank on the opposite side of the canal near Boston Airport, and had I not quicksaved, all of my grenades would be gone.

So, first of all, I decided to modify the script, so that it gives me a grenade back if it fails to secure a landing location. But then, I decided to go a step further, and see how exactly does the game decide whether it can land a Vertibird anyway.

In short, the Game calls for GetSafePosition() which does... something. Not gonna lie, the CK wiki didn't give enough description apart from the fact that it is supposed to return "safe" XYZ coordinates for landing.

So, I modified the script to use Player's current coordinates if it fails :p
You can use your stats to convince the pilot to land (PER>=7, INT>=7, CHR>=7) or use your rank in any of the game's main factions (BoS Rank >= Paladin, or having finished the game for Minutemen, Railroad or Institute). And you can always say "no", if you don't want to, or can't say yes.

Now, there are a few caveats here
: first of all, even with that modification, the lading can still not happen, since the script then starts a mini-quest - if that quest fails, the landing will not occur. This happens 100% of times on The Island or in Nuka World, and you need a mod, like Bos Vertibird DLC locations to allow them to land in there (same goes for modded landmasses, but I never tried any of them).

Secondly, even after the game uses the updated coordinates, it still is up to the dragon Vertibird where to land. So, it may still choose a place a mile away, and if there is a particularly angry-looking rad chicken, it will start a fight with it (and probably lose).

Lastly, landing in some places can make the Vertibird clip through solid objects, but at this point we are all probably used to it anyway.

And that's really it. I hope this mod will save sanity for at least some of you. I am still new to modding Fo4, so let me know if it breaks something.
