Before making any support or feature requests, please bear in mind that I'm not a Fallout 4 mod author per se. My main focus is Skyrim, and I don't make an effort to stay up-to-date on other games. I made this because other equivalent mods didn't meet my needs; it was meant to be a simple project, and I mean for it to remain one.
Known issue; nothing I can do about it. AFAIK it's a LooksMenu bug where LooksMenu just sometimes forgets to apply the skin, but I can't say for sure.
My workaround back when I last played FO4 was to save, and then enter LooksMenu, toggle the skin off and on until my hands look correct, and then return to face customization. Once I got the skin to show up, I could exit LooksMenu and load that save, and the skin would be applied again.
Put together very well, I appreciate it. Quick and easy to apply. I am running into one issue, though, that makes it hard to use. The face mesh is not taking the skin tone, though the body, head rear, and hands all seem to, when i modify it through the custom color sliders in looksmenu. None of the vanilla skin tone options seem to take, either, and i've tested on an entirely vanilla load order (aside from this mod and the requirements)
edit: I have figured out the problem, while trying to get either this or the alternative on the nexus working - It's related to the HD DLC and i'll just copy what I wrote elsewhere.
The HD DLC requires all human face textures to be 1024x1024, including the specular. Your mod calls on the vanilla ghoul textures for the face. Those textures, even in the HD DLC, still have 512 specular maps. Upscaling those two textures to the correct resolution fixes the skintone problem.
Oh very helpful thank you! I've been running into a similar issue, where the faces are turning black when the NPC I applied the textures to is loaded into anew cell. I'll give this a shot, thank you!
Can't figure out for the life of me what I did wrong. f4se is working wonders it seems but I'm having troubles loading this skin. It doesn't appear in my skins tab. Is load order of f4se and the skin relevant?
Hi! I've been looking at all sorts of playable ghoul mods and this one seems to be the most recent and easy to use, I just downloaded to try it out. Do you think there is any way to change the ghoul textures to a glowing one like Oswald?
Someone could, but unfortunately I can't. I don't own the DLC, so I don't have Nuka-World's data or textures on my PC. I'm pretty sure that feral and non-feral ghouls use different textures and UV maps, so there wouldn't be anything in the base game I could take advantage of for this.
This happens sometimes, and as far as I can tell, it's a LooksMenu bug. My workaround is to save and then enter LooksMenu, toggle the skin off and on until my hands look correct, and then return to face customization. If I fiddle with it enough to get the skin to show up correctly, then I can exit LooksMenu and load that save, and the skin will appear correctly there, too.
That it works this way implies that LooksMenu isn't actually resetting the skin so much as it's just forgetting to apply it, but I don't know what Expired hooked or how, so I can't say for sure.
The female looks good, even most of the hairstyles work. Male hairstyles are an issue, I'll probably just use a bald mod. A bigger problem is see through eyelids on the male. Anyway, thanks for making a ghoul mod that doesn't use a unique race and still allows for face customization. You're doing Atom's work.
