Hi! I would definitely download this mod for the Toxic Water recipe. It would be very useful for my Rad-Powered build. However, I found some recipes presented in the screenshots pretty overpowered. Not a problem for me, I could adjust it in FO4Edit, but it would be cool if you take a look on balance.
The Fresh Meat Stew giving 5% XP bonus is a little too much for its components. Squirrel Stew requires the relatively rare Squirrel Bits, and gives you only 2%. Radstag, Mongrel and Brahmin meats can be easily acquired on the Diamind City butcher.
Items that give critical hit damage bonuses are lasting too long and their bonuses are incredibly strong for their cost. I mean, all three recipes on the screenshots give you a 55% bonus together, which is a lot, for at least 30 minutes. Ans all of them use very common plants and dirty water to craft.
Maybe you could take a look on it. Or maybe not, the mod is yours. :) I'll download and endorse anyway.
The buffs being powerful is by design, but balance is something to discuss, certainly.
Fresh Meat Stew vs Squirrel Stew is a tough one. I could halve the duration of Fresh Meat Stew, or I could increase the strength of Squirrel Stew to compensate. I thought Fresh Meat Stew's shorter duration made up for its stronger effect, but maybe not.
The critical hit bonus thing is a bit tougher. There is no native "fortify crit" enchantment, so each item needed to have its own perk to work. An unfortunate consequence of this is that they can stack together. I personally don't think the max of 55% is that bad when you consider how superior Better Criticals is for bonus damage, but I can see how that's cause for concern, of course. A way to prevent this would be to give each of the items the same effect (and therefore the same bonus), which would stop them from stacking.
I think you could explore the list of Actor Values on FO4Edit and check if there is a Critical Chance value there.Take a look at the Better Criticals, if you find the Actor Value, you can search for the references for its uses and create your custom enchantment.
I know there is a "crit chance" AV, but as far as I know it's deprecated and is never used. I've never been able to figure out how critical chance works.
If you end up making a balance patch for yourself, I'm more than happy to share it on the main file page, if you like. I imagine a lot of people might appreciate such a thing.
I guess most fallout 4 players never played F76 since most it buffs last 30 mins to hr. and you can with food get Crit above 55% and can get xp over 500% even without lunchbox
I wanted to like these. The concepts are really good and I always like to have more things to make with all the stuff I collect. But wow are they ever OP. Nothing would ever be reasonable to add multiple points of SPECIAL for hours. Plus 1, maybe. Plus 3? No. Someone else mentioned the Critical Hit thing as well.
Personally, I'd recommend reducing all the buffs by 50%, either time or effect. Just to bring them more in-line with vanilla.
Unfortunately, I'm, like, terrible at meshing and texturing, so all the assets I used had to be pre-existing ones from Bethesda. That also helps with allowing its use on console, if I ever get around to doing that.
It is a good idea though. If 76's awesome opposum bacon were an asset in this game, I'd totally do it.
Are you sure? They heal thirst for me, and I'm using a mod that gives me a thirst meter. I used the base soups as templates for each new soup I added, so they should still be working. It might be that you aren't using enough soups to get to the next stage. Can you try consuming more than one and see if that helps?

...not certain I would recommend it at all, to be fair, but that's another matter entirely.

My only issue is that the new soups don't seem to help with thirst in survival. Other than that I'm enjoying it.ETA: N/M, operator error.
So sorry.
