Well I download the mod and looked at it in XEdit. Scary stuff. The mod works by adjusting a behind-the-scenes perk called PlayerPerk and adding a magical effect that adds ammo weight based on integers of how much of the ammo you're carrying. This means that it doesn't actually effect the ammunition types, it modifies your character. Once you save, those changes are probably baked into your savegame and will not go away, even if you uninstall. It only affects default Fallout 4 ammo types. No DLC and no mod support, unless you want to go edit the spell in there. That's why it doesn't display what the ammo weights are in the character inventory. It might show in the Status Effects screen, but I'm not willing to install it and test it.
I suppose that, for the time it was made, it was an elegant solution. It was just always doomed to obsolescence because of the ammo types later added by both Bethesda and modders. The author apparently didn't feel the need to update it.
Also beware that there are some weird sections in the .ESP that touch upon at least one quest. I honestly don't know if that is a requirement to get the mod to work or if the author used an ESP that was originally intended to do other things and forgot to remove the bits not relevant to ammo weight. Anyway, if you have some quest issues regarding the cat that escapes from the vault, this mod may be responsible.
Shame. I was hoping for a way to add ammo weight to non-Survival difficulties. This is not going to be it, at least not for me.
While the ammo weight is still 0 in the inventory screen, the mod actually works. It is easy to confirm with deposit the current stash of ammo somewhere. I placed it at the end of my active plug-ins too. I`m considering it an essential mod for Very Hard or Survival difficulty. It maybe only 1k, but helps a lot for the game immersion. My thanks.
Endorsed. I wish the ammo could have weight instead of the ammo weight reducing carry capacity, but I recognize this is not the mod author's fault. 0 weight anything is just a cheese move on the part of the developer, something you'd see in a low-budget Steam Greenlight FPS game. So that is 100% on Bethesda who has decided that's good enough for the customers of a hit franchise that rakes in 100 million + bucks per sequel (and uses the same engine over and over).
Without the GECK, there's jack-all a modder can do to add actual weight to ammo (and maybe not even WITH the GECK. We'll see.). The mod does work as advertised, and works stably and well. So endorsed and kudos to you for getting us something at all in this situation.
I would wish we could also see our base carry weight in the Pip-boy so we could tell how much ammo weight we are actually carrying. But that's really a whole different aspect of modding, so I understand if it's too far to go.

I won't endorse it however, cause it's made freaking sloppy.

Thanks again for modding this up!
