i think that Bethesda missed an opportunity in the game. essentially in my castle i built a generals office and outside i wanted a terminal. the idea is that if a minute man wanted to see the good general they would open the terminal and would receive
"if you wish to schedule a meeting please take a number his office hours are from 9 - 5
[take a number]"
now i looked far and wide and couldn't find a mod that could make this a reality aka a programable terminal was wondering if you might make one
if not can you point me in the direction of someone who can
Niston, First nice mod, looks awesome! I'll add it to my list for next playthrough. As for the offset issue you had, it might be an animation entry problem. We discovered with the mini workstations in Creative Clutter that if the item is placed too high, too low, or too close to other objects that it will block being able to enter the animation which breaks the ability to use it. This is why I have the awkward steps for the stoves in Modular Kitchen, no floating animation and no blocked animation. The other potential problem is that the Interact point might need some adjusting. If you can enter the animation but aren't seeing the terminal screen you need to adjust the interact point. It's super fiddly. Even being 1-2 units off means you can see the screen but not text on the screen or interact with the terminal. Good luck, maybe this will help! Thanks for making mods.
Thank you for your kind words. Yeah, I think that's exactly the problem as you describe it. On the original mod's comments, people were asking to make it placeable on any desk without Place Everywhere, so I thought I'd give it a try. But since some desks will be different than others, I don't think it could ever be adjusted to work properly for everyone that way - so I just left it alone.
As long as the desks they try to put the terminals on are pretty close to default desk height it might still work. If it's an animation blocking problem there is a leeway of some units (not certain of the max, but I think around 10 if I were to guess based on several years old memory >.< ).
I'm working on Strider5's Classic Computers now, hopefully fixed the CTD problem with the workshop object. I noticed they have their NIF setup in exactly such a way that allows building on a desk, or even above the player and it'll work - as long as the player char can path to it. I'll have to investigate more.
