About this mod

Makes rifles longer range than pistols by swapping Rifleman's armor piercing buff with Gunslinger's range buff, and vice versa.

This mod is a simple solution to the oddity that Fallout 4's rifles always end up with less range than their pistol counterparts at the endgame. I simply swapped the buffs for armor piercing and range on each, removed the cripple effect from Gunslinger 5, and adjusted the descriptions to match. As a bonus, since Fallout 4 classifies shotguns as rifles, investing in Rifleman gives shotguns more effective range too.


For easy reference:
  • Rifleman 1 (Unchanged): 20% bonus damage
  • Rifleman 2: 40% bonus damage, 25% bonus range
  • Rifleman 3: 60% bonus damage, 50% bonus range
  • Rifleman 4: 80% bonus damage, 50% bonus range, 5% chance to cripple
  • Rifleman 5: 100% bonus damage, 50% bonus range, 7% chance to cripple

  • Gunslinger 1 (Unchanged): 20% bonus damage
  • Gunslinger 2: 40% bonus damage, 15% armor pierce
  • Gunslinger 3: 60% bonus damage, 20% armor pierce
  • Gunslinger 4: 80% bonus damage, 25% armor pierce, 5% disarm chance
  • Gunslinger 5: 100% bonus damage, 30% armor pierce, 7% disarm chance


I removed Gunslinger 5's 7% cripple chance to not make it too overpowered compared to Rifleman 5. Rifleman already has the cripple effect, so it seemed better to keep it a rifles only thing.
