After my recent playthrough with Tales of the Commonwealth, I just had to have an all Muties must die policy, and it quickly made my choice easy in which factions I might join this playthrough, either it's BOS or Enclave, either way, by the time this playthrough is over, there would be a Super Mutant Genocide in the East Coast f*#@ all of them, except my homies back at the West Coast like Marcus and Lily, they're cool.
I kinda like Piper, can endure Preston, it is the runnaway blab blab blah blah blab blab Ada I wanna torture to death, slowly. Pull it's transistors out one at a time. Bethesda certainly goes out of their way to make key characters as annoying as possible.
I like piper an Cait an curie hate Strong we need stop the radio say that got super mutant on radio as companion with vault Dweller shut him up its lie on radio.
If it makes it any easier RP-wise, you could always say that Rex told the people at the radio station that, since he didn't stick around long enough to see you kill him and therefore assume Strong would stick with you.
Could you make a mod that has Strong and Rex waiting for you in Red Rocket that way i won't have to rescue them in trinity tower, the frame rate is very slow in those areas for my game at least.
I keep telling myself I should *try* to use him in one playthrough or other. He's a good candidate to take into the Glowing Sea, partly because I see him as *entirely* expendanble, and partly to see his reaction to Virgil.
But I never keep him that long. Sooner or later he moans that he's hungry and wants "someONE to eat". And it's not that hard to un-essential him in the console. I mean, I can work with morally dubious followers. Jericho was interesting in his own way, and so is X6-88. But man, Strong just sails right over that line and lever looks back. I always find myself thinking "Okay, why would my character, hearing what he/she just heard, in the world they live in, knowing what he's already said about just wanting to learn humankinds secrets to use against us.... why would my character let them live?" And invariably the answer is "I wouldn't."
It's easier to let PICKMAN live, for crying out loud. Pickman you can at least justify on a "For Now" basis, because he's at least useful at reducing the raider population. I'm sure he'd start preying on anyone else the moment order was restored and he ran out of raiders, but until then...
