Hi not sure if this is working. I have advanced needs and in survival, and when I try to refill it just gives me 5 bottles of Purified Water and the canteen's gone

Advanced Needs 76 is not compatible, because it is a very big overhaul and edits same quests/forms that this mod. Maybe it can work if merged by a bash patch or edited by hand

I'll try to test and see if this is compatible with Advanced Needs 76 that allows you to play other difficulties with Survival mode aspects such as filling bottles.

Edit: Side question, how does this affect crafting since a good amount of things require purified water as a component? Will it automatically take it from your canteen or do we just have to find purified water out in the world?

Crafting recipes requires classic purified water item in the inventory

Advanced Needs 76 isn't compatible, it's very big overhaul. Probably can work together if merged by bash patch or by hand

    Thanks. Works perfectly
For those guys like who plays Normal diffculty and NOT Survival
Water refilling i think is part of SURVIVAL mechanic and disabled in Normal
So to make refill actually work in the first place you need this mod          https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/14367?tab=description
And if it didn't help too add water filling perk manually           player.addperk 00249f55

It seems like you forgot to include the basic makeshift canteen - I don't get an option to refill one from any water source. And it's the only one you could quickly get early game - because for some reason the original author desided to add a ballistic fiber requirement for proper factional canteens which is sucks, consindering how rare ballistic fiber is and how it's coveted for modded armors and railroad upgrades already.

Ballistic Fiber isn't all that hard to get early in the game.   The latest you should have a 3 canteen setup is when you go find Nick in Vault 114.    For me, that is like in the first 1-2 hours of the game.    You can always find a roll of Military Duct Tape in Vault 114, and Daisy at Goodneighbor regularly sells the stuff.   Not to mention KL-EO sells the Shipments for Ballistic Fiber - she'll gladly take your caps....

how to make this mod work?

    i understand it correctly,

if i have a empty military clean canteen, i can fill it in any water source with A button in the controller right? prompted like if it was a reusable normal bottole, right?

      Im felling like an idiot,
the mod works perfectly, its just that its just works in survival, i was in clean save testing the mods for a playthrough before changing to survival

Conclusion: The mod works perfectly as intended

Is there no way to make a lite version with just the canteen refilling mechanic, for maximum compatibility with other mods, such as survival options? I feel like most people who want to use this mod are already using survival options.
I pray for many endorsements in your future, will be tracking.

The thing is that it is lite already. Sadly, I don't have any solution for it because survival in Fallout 4 is built like it is, based on mostly one, big quest in background so it's easy to get conflicts.
If I come up with a solution for this I will update the mod and post it, but for now I don't have any ideas that doesn't involve heavy scripting

How about at least adding like a "chem" item to toggle the drinking. that way we could hotkey it.

I just tried refilling the canteen at a vault water fountain and it was removed from my inventory. Does anyone have this issue?

It happens when you have other survival type mod, because most of survival options in game is handled by just on quest. If one mod modified it, other can't or it will conflict. For example Survival Options mod is incompatible because of that and I cannot find way around it.
If moving my mod to bottom of the load order (at least somewhere near it after other survival stuff) don't help, then sadly I have no solution for this, sorry.
If I find one in a future, I will post it

I'm downloading, but I think for chem + stimpack users in survival, having a canteen with just 6 waters can be not reliable. It's easy in heavy use of overdrive + jet to need between 10 and 20 bottles of water.

You are not limited to one canteen, you can always make more. You can craft as much as you like, if you have crafting materials for them, and enough carrying weight of course

The key point is heavy use of Overdrive and Jet.......
Interesting they call it "Survival", but they don't include "Water Toxicity" into the equation.

Sadly, this conflicts with the survival options mod I'm using. Cool mod, otherwise; endorsed.

Yeah, both mods modify the same quest. I've tried to make a merge patch or something like that, but with no success
Thanks for mentioning it, I'll add that info to mod page

No worries. Honestly, I like this mod enough that I'm probably going to look around to see if there's other mods that do the other things I want for survival mode that don't touch that quest. Again, great mod that seems like it should have been done so much longer ago, but I'm starting to see it's harder than it should be to implement. I'll track this mod for sure to see if a work-around for survival options is ever found.
