(thank you for this fantastic alternative to the glasses, i originally went to see if anyone added the institute secret decoder ring but this is much better)
i wanted the character to wear something, just not any eyewear. i feel like it still makes sense because i'm thinking of one of those decoder rings that you'd hold up to an image scrambled with visual noise, I.E. the Cappys, not one that has dials that you'd use to decode scrambled text
at the end of the day, the goal wasn't lore-friendliness or logic, it was to move the Cappy Glasses to another body part without removing them entirely
Does it stay equipped if you're wearing Power Armor? The one thing I hated about that quest was having to remove the helmet to equip the glasses, since my characters usually wear at least T-45 PA.
i'm actually not sure, because underarmor pieces stay "equipped" when entering power armor (as in they're still shown as equipped in the pip-boy), but i know for a fact they don't count towards your DR and any effects also don't count. considering all the quest asks for is that they're equipped, i'm gonna lean towards yes, but i'll have to check
don't worry, i gave it a quick test myself since i was already nearby.
unfortunately it's actually worse: not only does it not work through power armor, but because it's a ring and not glasses, rather than having to just take your helmet off, you actually have to get out of your power armor to see them, most likely because the game doesn't actually consider them "equipped" when you're in power armor :(

I mean, it's a cool mod, i just don't get why

edit: should be up any moment now when the nexus' servers stop screwing around
