I've installed this and i love the texture but dogmeat is now called dog. I'm not sure it isthis mod that has made the change though. Did you rename dogmeat to dog?
If you take a look at the mod contents you'll be able to check it only contains images. If your NPC got renamed either your game got glitched or a different mod did it.
It's a good texture, but the dog in Fallout 3 was a different breed - looked like some kind of Husky-mix mutt. The one in FO4 is definitely supposed to be a German Shepherd. And lore-wise, they're not the same dog - in-game, the events of FO3 took place 10 years ago.
Regardless, though, good work on the texture. The one blue eye kinda creeps me out lol.
Fallout 3's Dogmeat was said to be modeled after that of the one featured in Mad Max: Road Warrior (Blue Heeler/Australian Cattle Dog). And yes, even though there's no way Fallout 3's Dogmeat and Fallout 4's Dogmeat are one and the same, it's a sort of running gag in the series that all Dogmeats are descendants of one another.
CK/GECK isn't required to change a model. NifSkope is being worked on to support Fallout 4 models. As soon as that's done, anybody can make a new Dogmeat model and upload it. :3
This is really a nice texture! The dog in Fallout 3 looked like this: http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/1/1e/Dogmeat_FO3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20120310172022 ...and this dog hat a much more beautyful and usefull 3D model because it was complete Wolf or Husky face shaped like and not 100% German Sheppherd breed (no matter how many wolven or whatever-special-breed-retextures all modders try to design).
I can`t wait till new 3D dog models will arrive for the real Lone Wolf experience.
