Not sure if you've seen it, and I don't usually poke in to make requests but the magazines from Buff-Et Plus would be great candidates for a little face lift. It's quickly become one of my favorite mods for adding a little extra something to the Commonwealth.
I'm a little late on the reply here, but I can't load the image you linked. I also checked in-game with the vanilla version and had no problems with missing textures.
Maybe you could try loading this mod last to see if it's a texture conflict. Also, load up FO4Edit and see if another mod is making changes to any of the guides.
I don't know what else it could be. This mod contains loose diffuse files, all of which follow the vanilla file path, and this is the first I've heard of this issue with any of my magazine retextures.
The only other thing I can think to try is this mod and see if the problem still persists. If it does then it's likely a conflict of sorts.
Honestly at a loss right now. I'm almost sure it's a conflict as the texture works in worldview, just not inventory view.
The mod I linked includes an esp forwarding the base games material swap. Did you enable it during testing? It's a long shot, but possible something else is changing the mat swap and this mods esp is changing it back?
Also, I'm assuming you enabled archive invalidation and potentially also bEnableFileSelection to 1 in your .ini files?
I'm sorry to hear the problem persists, but as no one else is having this problem and I can't seem to replicate it, I don't know what else I could do to help you.
But if anyone has any ideas, I'm happy to take a look at them.
I just got back to Fallout 4. I think I figured it out. The problem is the name of the mod (left pane in MO2) is too long. So, for some reason, the game won't read this mod asset properly.
Sorry, I've been meaning to bring this to consoles. I just didn't think the demand was huge for textures because of the space limits. But I'll try to get them on there before the end of the month.
Been using these for a while and just love the aesthetic! Love bringing a little bit of FO3 to FO4. On a side note, this awesome weapon mod just came out https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/53998 and it has it's own issue of the wasteland survival guide! Any possibility you can add an optional patch bringing it to this style? If not I totally understand just figured it doesn't hurt to ask. Thanks for the mods!
Sorry for the late reply, but sure, I can look into making a consistency patch for that mod. I just need to find the time and get permission to use the textures from his mod.
I love how it looks like a bunch of Moira's original pristine book covers were found by some kids and they scrawled on the back. Way better than what Bethesda did by trying to retcon them as some kind of weird knockoff.
Another great mod, I love these vanilla based magazine retextures, I look forward to your next one. Mix this with the mod "Comics Got Back-CGB 2.0" and it gives magazines even more life.
I do have a question about the vanilla style illustrations though, do you redraw those by hand or do you just put it through editing, brush it up a bit to give it an HD look and then you're done?
Thanks for the interest, I've already started retexturing the Total Hack magazines.
But to answer your question, I just edit the image through photoshop.
I remove the background from the original magazine cover, run it through a sharpening filter, clean up the image, and change the color to a dark grey. Then it's layered under the grim and blemishes to fit in.
Considering Moira's guide made it as far as the Mojave, I always thought it was strange how Fallout 4 thing had these knock off looking Survival Guides. I honestly could never tell if they were supposed to be Moira's or not. So this is much appreciated.
I believe they're supposed to be knockoffs. A number of the titles are references to the quest in Fallout 3. That and they share the same title, so I'm pretty confident.

Hope this helps!
Anyway, I've tried to switch from Vanilla to Vanilla without Bloodstain, and they still have the same purple textures.

Yes, I've also enabled archive invalidation and bEnableFileSelection to 1.

Edit: The patch is finished and available for download.
