Unfortunately there are two major problems with this mod:
First, you're replacing the True Storms esm instead of patching it with an esp, which means that even the Earlier Sunset addon in the True Storms installer reverts your changes entirely.
Second you've only removed dust storms from the generic Commonwealth climate, but they still happen when a player is in specific regions such as downtown Boston (including Diamond City). If you open TrueStormsFO4.esm in xEdit and expand the list of Region records you'll find more records that need to be patched to disable dust storms.
Also noteworthy is that the Nuka World path for TS puts dust storms into Nuka World's regions too.
I was wondering why I'm getting the storms again. Thanks for the info Sennerezza. I'm not quite that versed in xEdit or I'd attempt to patch this myself. I really, really hate those dust storms. What a shame. I guess I'll just keep checking back to see if this gets fixed.
EDIT: I managed to find all records for dust and removed them, backing up the TS ESM just in case. So far, no dust storms. Only took me 5 years of modding to finally learn to do the most basic stuff. Again, thanks Sennerezza.
Hmm, this mod makes it so that the chance of dust storms are 0% so it shouldn't. Try uninstalling, going inside an interior, reinstalling then waiting 2 days.
Yeah, those are just annoying. Makes no sense when you have a bunch of people in DC market and they are just walking around and selling even food in the middle of a dust storm pandemonium.
Yeah agreed, I just wish there was a more lightweight version of Gasmasks from The Commonwealth; that mod gives everyone a gas mask that they either a. wear all the time or b. wear during rad storms
I really want it but it adds a lot more than just that, like filters and other things... it's a cool mod but the other stuff isn't really what I want in my game. Maybe someday someone'll make a version with just that.
Maybe... I'm just getting my modlist ready for when I play next and wanted True Storms but didn't want to deal with Dust Storms, so I didn't have a chance to test it (will work tho), I don't think there was though. I've used the mod before and ended up uninstalling because they annoyed me, and I guess I probably would've checked before I uninstalled?
edit: decided to check, there isn't an option to disable them
I'd love if there were some dirt left on the floor after a dust storm for realism though, but I guess that's too much to ask. But yeah, dust storms make the situation challenging and can be annoying if you are thinking on doing something in specific and then they appear out of nowhere and they change the whole situation. lol But on the other hand I like how they encourage you to go stealth thanks to the stealth bonus and enemy vision penalty. :)
I imagine that if the dust actually settled that would tank your performance lmao, also when you said 9 I had to go through the files and make sure I hadn't accidentally put it as a 9 haha
I wonder though if there is some effect that could be added. similar to the "wet" coating effect when it rains in this game but with an imitation of dust on the floor. I don't know much about how such effects work and how they are made and even if that thing would look good but I'm just kind of spitballing. lol
I wish I could say I could help but honestly if you look at my mods they're all pretty basic, if you wanted something like that you'd be better off asking the author of Wet Effects
The problem isn't the duststorm itself, the problem is, you can't see a damn thing, but the enemy sees you from miles away. For a playthrough with the Desperados mod or in New Vegas Style it's a cool thing to have the duststorm option. The other thing is, the storm happens too often.
I'd swear that raiders had a vision penalty with dust storms, at least before I installed Raider Overhaul. With Raider Overhaul raiders feel almost omniscient and they get alerted even when you are hiding behind some building feet away.

I personally don't mind the dust storms that much and gives me a chance to put infrared googles and the sort to some use. lol
And yeah I see where you're coming from! The Dust Storms look so badass, but they just feel a little out of place for me :P
