Adds the option to select your scope overlay (reticle) after you attach a scope to a weapon under the
Weapons Workbench. This only works for vanilla weapons (Far Harbor and Nuka World supported).
Details:
Once you attach a scope to your vanilla weapon (Far Harbor and Nuka World supported), you will see
"Scope Overlay" section under the Weapons Workbench and this will allow you to choose from the various
scope overlays the vanilla game offers but does not use.
This works on standard Scopes and Night Vision Scopes.
Does not work on Recon Scopes because they only have one scope overlay all together.
They are free to create as it is just a cosmetic customization that it is adding.
Compatibility:
Object Modifications (OBJM) specific to the Scopes/NV-Scopes attachments for the weapons.
Everything in the plugin is super user friendly and organized, so you should not have a hard time figuring
out how I created this mod, how to solve incompatibilities, or how to add support for non-vanilla weapons.
Most importantly, this will only work with the Vanilla Scope system.
Mod & Creation Club Support
Want to add this option into non-vanilla weapons? Use FO4Edit!!!
So the very first step is to make this the Master Plugin of "x" mods you want to add support on.
Add the corresponding attachment Keyword (KYWD) provided in this mod to the OBJM entry under
"Attach Parent Slots" for the corresponding scope.
Example:
OBJM (for the Pipe Gun Short Scope attachment)
Property:
Zoom Data
ZM_Standard_Scope_x4
This tells you what type of KYWD you need add to the Attach Parent Slots for the Pipe Gun's Short Scope.
In this case, for the Standard_Scope_x4, you add ScopeOverlay_x04 KYWD.
Issues:
Sometimes the Scope Overlay option will not appear. The may be due to having to many weapons
in your inventory or too many of the same weapons in your inventory.
Solution:
Simply isolate the weapon you want to modify and reenter the workbench. I only ran across this when
testing as I needed multiple weapons. So you may not even experience it in normal gameplay.
Other Notes
Although the vanilla game uses Zooms of x4 (Short Scopes), x6 (Medium Scopes), and x10 (Long Scopes),
Bethesda also has x2 (Very Short Scopes). Down the road, I may add it as another scope option as well as
add more scopes for the vanilla weapons that only have a one type of scope.
