I set sStartingConsoleCommand=setgs fJetpackThrustSustained 99.5 but it doesn't work in game, if I set it in game then again through console then I shoot to the sky, better value is 93 and initial thrust 400. But sustained has to be put through console.
Fix for adding SustainedThrust value without console. Install mods: "Mod Configuration Menu" and "Game Configuration Manager" Locate and edit the jason file here: \Fallout 4\Data\MCM\Config\GCM\config.jason Backup the file first! Change the slider for Sustained thrust value "step". Change value 1 to 0.1 as you see below. Save file. This only changes the slider to smaller increments.
If I could endorse this I would. But I didn't download the mod . . . I just followed your instructions and edited my ini. That was several years ago and I forgot where I got that information. I have been playing Fallout 4 again lately and wanted to increase the duration a little bit from what I was using. Thanks for your help.
Great mod, I thought the jetpack seemed a little too much like a double jump however making it last longer just made it OP yet I hadnt considered lowering the power as well.
That being said I am a bit of a picky pain so I did mess with the values a little bit, I found time to sustain at 6 and initial thrust at 125 felt best. Great mod, the only way to make it better would be to have the jetpack have no upper limit and use fusion core drain rather than AP as the limiting factor, but since the AP and fusion core consumption seem to be linked I have no idea if thats even possible atm.
Thanks for the comment ill be sure to try your values. I think it would be better if someone could make the jetpack run on flamer fuel instead of AP and fusion core drain that would be Awesome.
yes of course, the all the settings i changed are all ready in the game i have just made them more to my liking but i have not added any thing that was not in the game originally, so i would be being a dick if i said you couldn't.
I do not know if this is bug due to the edits i have made or a bug in the original game engine but in first person mode with my mod (v2a) installed when press the sprint key it drains you AP but you move forward faster, let me know if you experience this happening to you.
Is there a way to keep the vanilla height limit and thrust speed, but get rid of the AP drain and drop off (so I can fly indefinitely at vanilla height)?
i do not know if this is possible.you could fiddle with the setting i edited to make the mod yourself and see if you can make it more to your liking there in the description get back to me if you do.
Yeah, that was the idea. I don't know how to introduce a height limit though. The rest shouldn't be a problem, I'll just put the following line into my fallout4.ini:
sStartingConsoleCommand=setgs fJetpackThrustInitial 768;setgs fJetpackDrainSustained 0;setgs fJetpack... (You get the idea)
Which settings do I need to change for the height limit? Or is the height limit simply a byproduct of thrust/sustain time?
Firstly i did not know you could enter console commands through .ini files thank you for that and secondly yes the height limit is a combination of the fJetpackThrustInitial and fJetpackTimeToSustained lines, i'm no pro modder but hopefully someone can make a fully customizable jetpack mod when the G.E.C.K, F4SE and MCM menu come out.
Isee, thanks for the info. I'll just play around with it a little, then. And you're welcome, lol. Did it the wrong way, though, edited the comment accordingly.
Lovely, works perfectly. I'd suggest you up the fjetpackthrustinitial value a bit though, 103 is a bit glacial and on the 15 sec version gives you barely enough height to go from the ground to the roof of the Red Rocket; I'd say around 120 is more playable(quicker acceleration, and provides enough thrust to overcome your fall speed in the event you let your finger off spacebar for more than a second).
if you increase just the fjetpackthrustinitial value you fly for longer than i intended but that said i will still release more powerful versions in the optional files section.
edit: after some testing adding more powerful versions is a bit pointless it makes my mod almost the same as the many jetpack mods available on the nexus currently. but if more people ask i will add more power full versions its just getting the timeings right that's the hard bit.

Save file. This only changes the slider to smaller increments.
"text": "Sustained thrust",
"type": "slider",
"help": "Default: 85",
"valueOptions":
"min": 0,
"max": 500,
"step": 0.1
"sourceType": "PropertyValueFloat",

Find the power armor configuration under GCM menu and change it.
Nice.

Endorsed, good stuff.

-No AP drain
-No Height limit
-No Timer
-Fusion Core drains faster instead of AP...
Fusion core drains with a full to empty flight time of 5 minutes, to prevent people just staying airborne when a monster comes.
As flying everywhere is too easy...
